Schoenfeld is our Assistant GM, but I wouldn't be at all opposed to bringing Dudley in as an additional voice in the room.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO This guy is a train wreck. He paid Big Buf like he was an NHL star, no way. He mishandled Vinny Lecavalier and was hellbent on trading him, those were the worst days for Tampa. This guy can't hold a GM job for more than a year...I wonder why....chooo chooo.
Only Don Waddel thought it was a good idea to hire him because only the guy who was enough of schmuck to make the same mistake over and over with super stars on expiring contracts would need a GM this bad to make himself look good.
There is a reason why the Atlanta franchise failed. Stay away from these people.
You want to hire someone? Start with throwing money at Håkan Andersson or Jim Nill.
He built CHI from top to bottom. Prior to that made OTT a powerhouse. Buff and Ladd are just a few of his CHI guys he was able to get. The top players he brought to CHI were not available to ATL.

As AGM does that mean he was responsible for those draft picks? In NY very often it's the Director of Player Personnel who is the head scout, making the picks. When it was left up to Maloney, when there was no DPP, it didn't go so well.
Most of Detroit's picks come from Håkan Andersson who is head of European scouting.

Bring him in the organization and there's temptation to move him up the org chart. I don't want him near the organization at all. Hire someone else as a scout like I've mentioned before if that's what you need. He's proven he's a stud at it. Our US scouting is obviously covered by Gordie Clark. European Scouting can use an upgrade to the same kind of Elite status.

You can question me all you want, but to second guess nhl.com hardly makes much sense. If they say he was responsible, they know, job title doesn't matter. BTW, Director of Player Personnel is a fairly new invention, the front office of many teams don't have such position.
Sather no longer knows talent from bust. Messier is a contract guy and more of a manager than technical. Clark is very good scout, but far from elite Dudley is.
