I also think you guys get horribly underrated, year after year. You have the flash (Koivu, Havlat, PMB) but you're very Nashvillesque in the sense that your team grinds out hard wins. I have mad respect for that, and specifically for a player like Greg Zanon.

But the biggest win to Minnesota's gotta be the fans. I've yet to speak to a Minny fan I didn't like even somewhat. Whether that's because y'all are classy as hell, or because you're not needlessly arrogant, I'm not sure. In either case, it's a huge breath of fresh air around these boards.

There does exist a hockey team called the Wild
And though many a few claim their fans to be mild,
They'll scream and they'll fight
Be bold (but not bite)
Until your team's name and rep has been defiled.

Boom. Limerick'd.
Skipped over this yesterday but I think you win life.

Quite the contrary, I couldn't win at life if it weren't for you and your excellent team giving me so much to gush about.

Where should I start? The awesome raw skill of Mikael Granlund? The inherent awesomeness of Cal Clutterbuck's name? The fact that you have a backup goalie who could feasibly be a #1 on a few teams? Tyler Cuma, who was my favourite Ottawa 67 when he was with the team? Or maybe just the fact that your logo makes sense both as the sum of its parts and if you look at each part individually.

Take your pick. Yeah, I'm something of a closet Minny fan.

As a Leafs fan, it's hard not to hate Minnesota, cause their fanbase is so supporting.
And ... the Minnesota broadcast when the Leafs vs. the Wild, the commentators were the only people throughout the entire season that didn't trash talk the Leafs for a miscellaneous reason.

to the Minnesota Wilds. If there's any other team i'd cheer for, it's the Wild.

and they're proactive, they save us from wondering where our native sons are from. I don't need to look up where Tom Gilbert is from if we're playing the Oil, I've already been told 12 times...

Only if you emphasize the 'BIIIIIIIIIG' John Scott part.

He'll probably be saying Young Clayton Stoner until he's 35 too.

Hate a whole team because of what a guy did on prior teams? There's flawed logic if I've ever heard it. Pure genius. I hate Matt Cooke, don't hate the Pens. At least not because of that. Honestly it's stupidity like this that just makes me hope he lights you guys up next time we play.

When I heard this trade, I immediately went to the Wild's board to see what they thought. And I saw this thread and lol'ed.

No, Ottawa does not hate Minnessota. I didn't hate San Jose, but couldn't cheer for them to win the cup. Same in Minnie. No way would seeing Dany, "what's backchecking", Heatley hoist a cup be acceptable. I congrat San Jose for making it as far in the playoff as they did with his millstone around their neck.

Good luck with Heatley guys. He should be pretty good for the first half of the season, until he gets comfortable.

I liked SJ pre-Heatley trade. I still liked them, just not as much, post-trade.

Sucks for Minnesota. Havlat was one of my favourites on the Wild. I'll still like you guys, though.
