A 3 time 20 goals scorer is worth more than a 6th rounder imo.

A 6th rounder for a player who puts up 45-55 points a season?

Thank god you are not a GM.

Good work. Pretty much all of our capgeek scenarios are still intact!

good.

he did not deserve more money so same salary is fine

1 yer deal is perfect. Hopefully it will give him more incentive to perform and earn a better contract.

I hope to see him play on the 3rd line with Eller. they formed a good combo.

They will need someone better to fit into the top 6, i feel AK provides great depth but lacks consistency as a top 6.

Can't help but think the negotiations were not very long.

PG: So good morning
AK: I shoot puck on net, I score goal.
PG: Same salary as last year?
AK: "okay"

I'm expecting a big season from him this year so he can cash in on a bigger contract next summer. Same salary as well with this one year deal, so I'm happy with it.

Exactly what I expected. Kosty is decent value for his current salary but didn't really earn a raise. Would prefer longer term but that would involve more dollars I think. They can re-evaluate in the last half of the upcoming season.

good contract I guess.

Let's wait and see how he play this year, it will be interesting to see what PG will do if he have a career year.

Satisfied. He earned the bare QO... in both senses. He was good enough to get that. And yet still left us wanting more, such that a better/longer deal would have been hard to justify.

Sensible "safe" signing for the Habs. It's not the time to gamble.

For those wishing it was a longer deal: even if the team wanted that, the player would have to agree. I get the feeling AK wouldn't mind testing the market after this season.

Yah and so was Frolov.
I remember him lasting half a season in NYR.

Even if he can score 20 goals, it dosent mean people will be breaking down doors to get him.

What are you expecting, mid level, prospect, pick? I dont get what people think he is actually worth.

Stats dont always tell the tale.

Hopefully the one year to UFA will give him some incentive to put the puck in the back in of the net like there's no tommorow.

Nice. I actually love this guy. Hopefully they can get another top 6 winger and put AK on the third line with Eller and DD.
