1st overall to Buffalo

Trying to gauge value here...

Receives: Buffalo's 1st round pick (16th overall) + Mark Pysyk + Brayden McNabb + Luke Adam

Receives: 1st overall (RNH).

It would probably take something like that, but Buffalo is overpaying.

I thought it might be an overpayment, but I figured I'd rather overpay in the proposal than have a bunch of angry Oilers fans in here with pitchforks, ready to tar and feather me

Haha, I knew when I clicked on this an Oilers fan would say something about Tyler Myers.

Personally, I'd rather have Tyler Myers than the 1st Overall Pick.

Atleast the individual pieces coming from Buffalo were a lot better quality.

There are several players on the Sabres that could do it.

I would look at Miller first. The Oilers need a star net minder.
Especially after watching the rights for Bryzy land a 3rd, future consideration and an AHL player. That's just for Bryzy's rights to negotiate.

1st overall straight up for Miller is actually an overpayment by the Sabres in my opinion, Edmonton may have to add something.

I think Edmonton will be inclined to ask for young proven assets if they trade away the first overall pick.

I'm thinking they would ask for Tyler Myers.

No need to start our prospects>ur prospects. EDM adds Marincin + 2nd to the list and BUF still wouldnt bite

EDM would let Dubnyk develop and pick a #1C with its pick

Give me a ****ing break. Overpaying for the 1st overall in THIS year's draft is a dumb idea. There is not clear cut #1 prospect heading into this draft, so why waste tons of talent to get the first pick?

I would hope Hall, Eberle and next years 1st come along with this years.
Since that's what it would take to pry Myers from Buffalo.

Franchise defenseman don't come along very often.

ha ha I knew as soon as I clicked on this the usual Sens suspects would be downgrading the Oilers first Pick again

Buffalo's better off signing Richards and developing center prospects themselves.

In all seriousness, if Tambo were to atleast listen to offers, about the only thing Buffalo could afford to offer, and I say that very loosely, is Miller.
With Enroth showing promise, but yet to prove his metal, it would be a huge risk on Buffalo's part.

We really couldn't give up anything else given this rosters lack of center depth and a true first pairing partner for Myers.

If it was to be Miller, and some type of deal could be hammered out, your team just got a whole lot better on the back end.
I am positive Tambo would consider a deal including Miller for sure.

What other components, if any, I could only guess at, but for both teams, it's atleast a starting point. Just my 2 cents.

RNH is more of a lock for 1 this year then Hall was last year. Show me one ranking that was done lately that does not have him first. Also, it would be Myers +++ for first overall

That would depend on what the price is for Richards, which won't be cheap cap hit wise when the bidding war starts July 1st.

I do agree with many on here though, that the 1st overall isn't as strong as other years and it's a gamble for sure.

Fair enough. Edmonton doesn't have to trade the #1 pick, they are perfectly fine by selecting a franchise center or defenseman with the #1 pick. It will take an overpayment to get that pick from them, as it would take an overpayment to get Myers from Buffalo.
