If half of the rumors are true about Carter/Hartnell or a Carter Richards/ Clubhouse division then it sounds to me that we need to do much more than just Sign Bryzgalov.

Crazy how a year ago we were in the finals and 6months ago we looked like the best team in the NHL.

Well it's already been thoroughly confirmed that the Hartnell/Carter rumors from last season were completely made up by some teenage blogger or some such garbage.

edit:

That has far more to do with Thomas than it does with Kaberle.

So what? That doesn't mean Kaberle has been a success.

Im not convinced Eskin would know who Jeff Carter or Mike Richards were if he saw them hopscotching down Walnut Street .

Bzzzzzttttt with clown and his nonsense.

That bleeping whole station needs a complete overhaul in talent.

Eskin may sound clueless about hockey on his radio show but his sources are usually sound. I'd say this is something to look out for.

Don't confuse people into thinking he was actually a writer for the paper. He had paraghraph to use for editorial and al he did was write what he said the day before on his radio show.

His sources aren't strong aside from the Eagles.

I think some of you guys are underestimating the report. Eskin didn't just say he had an injured back, but he reported that he had a herniated disk. He's also usually the first to report many signings like the Sixers bringing in Doug Collins or other things. He has people withing the Flyers and Sixers organization that he has known for a long time.

If the Flyers trade Mike Richards, then I will idolize him as the new Nostradamus.

They won't.

He did say that the Flyers are getting higher offers for Carter. I don't know.

That's because Carter's a higher end player. He's not exactly the first person to be suggesting Carter trade rumors either.

If we're trading Carter instead of nickel and diming, I would guess we'll be overpaying for Bryz, and subsequently scoring 40+ fewer goals this season.

Outlook not good.

If we trade Richards, I'm cheering for the Wings, Blues, and Predators.

Well I was a Wings fan before I was a Flyers fan. I just like the Blues and the team they have going for the future. The Preds were my team to win the cup this year, but that fell through.

I think your overestimating the value of eskin... he did mention he had an injured back.... on the radio but if you want better proof that he is clueless as to how the code is...

you never, ever want to specify an injury.. why? because there are players out there, to this day that will exploit that injury...

When it comes to honesty with injuries hockey is a virgin joke. Jeff Carter w "lower body injury". its a knee! What's so hard to say that
20 Apr via Twitter for BlackBerry®

so whats the problem here? well that was the same day of the last game against buffalo... that carter played in, not to mention 2 more games i with boston.... eskin was sucking up to his pals got a bit of info, ran with it then all of a sudden its in the press....

**edit** also alot of organizations will use the press to put out info in a more controlled manner... the flyers use timmy p that very same way ( hell deny it of course - may not even realize it, but hey it keeps him wanted) you think that bar scene in slapshot (where reggie feeds dickie dunn the BS story about the chiefs going to florida) is something that is only in movies?

Right. Carter and Hartnell were preparing a lawsuit against him.

Why would the Flyers feed Eskin the information that Pronger had a herniated disk in his back. If anything that's the opposite of what the Flyers would want in the media. That would be the difference between info fed from the top and information gathered through various sources. Jeff Carter and Mike Richards being available is information that the team would most likely not want to make public.

I don't know how anything you said in your post discredits Eskin's information as unreliable. Most of the things you mentioned turned out to be true and things the Flyers weren't open about.

really? not to be patronizing, but how long have you been following hockey and other sports?

he let leak on may 11 the disc issue whic was TADDAA!!!1 the same day of homers press conference so yeh..

him being correct on carters injury isnt the issue ... its HIM REVEALING IT WHILE HES STILL IN THE LINEUP... ever wonder why TEAMS ARE VAGUE... you know i dont even hate eskin matter of fact hes entertainable,

but you can stick his hockey reporting somewhere...

i was using carters instance on eskins cluelessness.... he doesnt care about hockey if it doesnt benefit him in some way, wether trying to kiss up to richie and asking him to come on to 610 just to piss off panotch, or have a funeral for terrell owens when he left philly only to beg him to come onto his 5000th show...

like i said, i like howard, but hes not edward r murrow

Don't crucify me but I have a friend very close to the situation. Very.

He said the following trade offer is true.

Voracek, Filatov, 8th

Except that it wasn't intended for Carter.

It was for Richards. FWIW
