when lucic is healthy he gets invited to team canada tryout camp
he destroys montreal almost single handed in playoffs
he scores 30 plus goals while making highlight reel hits and fights
when hes injured he doesnt... omg when crosby is injured he doest even play lololol
funny how injuries sometimes slow players down
i mean thorton when injured scores no points for us in playoffs and next year wins the mvp trophy for the whole league
its funny how injuries sometimes slow a player down
if some of you fans want to propose idiot trade value for lucic then go ahead. it only reveals your own ability to participate in the process with or without becoming a joke.
we all overrate our players. i personally wouldnt trade lucic. theres no upside to it. if im offered a crosby for him then obviously i have to do it. even if crosby didnt score many points in the second half of this season, he actually still is a pretty decent player so yes id have to make that deal
but we all know its not likely pittsburgh would deal crosby period... and never for lucic... so i doubt id ever have to make that decesion.
right now lucic is signed to a fair deal... scoring 30 goals... being a huge fan favorite... is young and improving on a day by day basis when healthy.
for marketing value alone, it would be really stupid to deal him. but when you factor in age and contract and production, you just cant make a trade work.
i mean its similar to when hartford dealt ron francais... or toronto dealt wendell clark. maybe toronto got a much better player back but they basically ripped the heart and soul out of their team and hartford killed their franchise dealing away their heart and soul.
you just dont make trades that involve players this popular with the fan base unless theres one damn good reason
while i think kulemin for lucic straight up is fair, maybe add something small on the leafs side, i think it would be a lateral move for both teams. They are both 30 goal scorers, same big frame, like getting their nose dirty in corners, great board work, and similar power forward attributes. I'd trade kulemin for lucic but I really wouldnt add that much to it from toronto's side if boston says no. Lucic might fight and do some other things kulemin doesnt do, but overall they both play a very similar game, while i think kulemin has a better shot.
