I guess Patrick would move from the Remparts only for a head coaching or a GM job not only for an assistant coach job. I could see a Patrice Brisebois getting the job or perhaps the guy in your own name Gaston Gingras it would be ncie to have a former defenseman.

roy is way too arrogant and too much of a hot head to be an assistant coach, disaster waiting to happen.. would be nice to have some emotion on the bench though haha
1. our Def. coach is Pearn. Muller works with special teams and forwards. Gingras and Brisebois were Ds.
2. Gingras is ancient and has little relevance to today's NHL. The only reason you suggest he is a good choice is what you have in common with him.
No sorry I'm not an ex Habs defenseman that is still coaching young players and hold hockey camps and was actually asked by Guy Boucher to be an assistant coach. You're being ridiculous.

There are many ex players we would like to see behind the habs bench as asisstant coach. Gingras is not on that list, neither is Brian Englomb or Andre Racicot.

Muller didn't even do that with youth and he is a pretty good assistant coach what's your point ? like I said Guy Boucher asked Gingras to be his assistant coach, I think it's fair to say that he probably know more who is qualify for the job than you.

if you want to get into CVs, gingras played 476 NHL games and was a journeyman. Muller played 1349 (ALMOST 3 times as many) was captain of the Canadiens, was our 1st line center when we won the Cup for the last time. Muller retired in 2003. Gingras last played in the NHL in 1989 and went on to play in Europe, the AHL and the ECHL.
the NHL today is nothing like the NHL of 1989. So like I said, little relevance to today. Might as well hire Perron, he was in the NHL just before 1989 and he worked on l'antichambre too didn't he? or was it 110%?

Gingras declined the offer, I really don't know what do you have against the guy he would be a fine candidate IMO. There is alot of choice was just proposing another name than just Cunneyworth. Mike Keane would also be a nice pick and he just retired from hockey.
My pick would be DeBoer. I'd like Cunneyworth to stay in Hamilton and teach the kids.

That's Gaston Therrien not Gaston Gingras. I think Gaston Gingras could do a decent job. Didn't he worked with the Habs organization before?
