Rangers out of Richards sweepstakes? Or Pat Morris plants rumor to gain negotiation leverage for his client because everyone already knows the Rangers are the only team he wants to play for (not saying he won't play for other teams). Does everyone* really take rumors at face value? or only the one's that aren't attached to Eklund**?
*for certain values of everyone
**for certain values of Eklund
but according to the rules of this messaging board, because it wasn't Eklund who reported it, it must be true!
A blogger that calls himself generically "Hockey Break" and has 3300+ followers of their Twitter account? Sounds like the man himself or another imitator with the same lack of credibility...
Meaning if true then it really is all up to Brad to see what he wants to do.
FWIW I don't think they'll trade his rights.
I don't think he'll waive to allow them because if you get your rights traded it's kind of perceived as a mark against you if you don't reach a deal with the team that traded for you. He probably just wants to start fresh on July 1st.

I think he is more intent on waiting for July 1st to see every offer that is available to him.
I think no matter what he has his heart set on going to July 1st because he wants to see what's there for him.
Richards won't be waiving his NTC -- he pretty clearly wants to test the market, and he has said (if I recall correctly, or it might have been speculated) that if his rights were traded, he would feel pressured/obligated to sign with the organization that acquires his rights.
I'll just throw all the wacky scenarios/dark horses out there for fun.
NYI: somehow he buys into the Isles plan of the future; sees them making playoffs plus potentially making a run in the future. They have money to throw at him. Slides right in there to play along side JT, Okposo, Grabner and Nino.
NJ: Dump Rolston and Zubrius miraculously and he signs to play with them.
Washington: money to throw at him.
Montreal: buys out Gomez/rips someone off by managing to have them take him on.
Winnipeg: want to make a splash with their new team.

.
I would be scared to see him and JT together. I watched JT very closely in 2 WJHC..he is SO DEADLY at the side of the net, he could play RW on the PP and when they need a goal..50 would be in his sights
