Anyone think that NY is just waiting to sign Kreider until the summer cap is solidified? It's an easy way to not go over the summer cap, get the team solidified cap wise then add his contract after waivers, re-assignments etc. Until Kreider has a contract, it's in his interest to say the current plan is to return to BC. Maybe we sign him after Redden is officially sent back to Hartford or a similar scenario.

But think about it, dude probably didnt have time for girls between traveling everywhere to play hockey in tournaments and for his prep school. Now he is living on his own without his parents up his butt and meets a nice girl at BC. Suddenly fool doesnt want to leave college to make millions of dollars.

Girls are the downfall of men... Once you get married, life is never the same right?

Can't live with them, can't live without them...

I heard the same nonsense about McDonaugh having a girlfriend that he supposedly didn't want to leave. sigh...

Who cares?

Anyway last I checked the map, Boston and NY are pretty close.

He can still see her...

Is that really an official statement?

Lets see what happens later this month at prospects camp when John Tortorella can speak with him.

So we know Clark is Leslie's source.
Well its from the mouth of Gordie Clark. A high up in the Rangers organization.

That's all I wanted was some kind of statement from the organization.

I don't discredit Leslie. But I wanted to know if it was someone just saying things to her. Or if it was someone like Clark.

Now we know it was Clark. And he made a statement publicly.

That's all I wanted to hear/read.

Maybe I communicated that wrongly a few days ago, that's my fault.

Eitherway, im still hoping minds can be changed at prospect camp.

The Rangers have been notified Chris Kreider has made the irrevocable decision to return to Boston College for his junior season. The 19th overall selection in the 2009 Entry Draft is taking a full course load this summer to advance his commitment to earn his degree.

On the positive side,he will earn his degree faster taking a full course load in summer school.

One thing you can say about Kreider--he ain't lazy. In regards to all these extra courses I'm wondering if it means no prospect camp.

I remember reading in the pre draft interviews leading up to us drafting him that he was a kid that took education seriously. I would not doubt if he takes a Mike Richter route and continues his education while being a Pro.

As an outside observer I think Kreider is making the right move staying in school, and not so much for schooling but to work on his game. I think he has very high end potential in the NHL, and letting him develop properly will help him greatly. I watched him a lot this year at BC, and thought he was good, but not great. I thought his WJC wasn't very good at all, and didn't look as confident this year as he did the year prior. ON the bright side is you know you'll have someone who is dedicated to whatever they're doing when he turns pro. You won't have a player dogging it on your hands.

The full course load this summer is a positive because like Rangerboy said it show's he wants to finish early. Also With him not being a possible leftwinger this season for us at least we'll see a good competition between Grachev, Hagelin, and Zuccarello.

Don't forget Erik Cole played 3 years of college too, and I think these two play very similar styles. There's no need to rush him, or put the pressure on him, even though he's our number one ranked prospect. There's a number of wingers worth looking at for the next year as i mentioned in Grachev, Hagelin, Zuccarello, and Thomas.

Something posters should know here:

I do not tweet rumors. If I send a tweet it is because I either have seen it myself, talked to the player, or have a source within the organization who is not willing to be quoted just yet.

It's my deal with all our readers.

Think it's safe to assume he'll be here for sure next season then? With all the extra schooling and what not this summer...

And this is more confirmation.

Leslie, that's all I wanted. Something official from the organization.

Hopefully we can pick up a guy like Erik Cole this summer on a cheap-ish short-term deal.

False.

They wanted official confirmation. Which you didn't believe would happen, but viola, the Rangers organization came out earlier (Clark) and now even further confirmation.

Bu bu bu... they don't make statements about prospects.

Thats not what I said. At all.

I said they dont/wont make an official press release about NOT SIGNING A PROSPECT - I've yet to see one here.
