Schiefele's a Spezza on offense, and a malhotra on defense, he needs to bulk up and shoot more

the face was more of a joking comment. He's basically a Spezza player though. 6'3 not always involved on defense but not entirely out of it and has the potential to be a playmaker who can put the puck in the back of the net. Goes to Montreal!

I really hope Oilers get to pick him at #19. I really like him as a player. Love his tools.

6'3 Centre with first to second line potential Jason Spezza-esque player getting past the Habs @ 17? Best be hoping Zibinjad drops there or that ain't happening

I'd like to see the Habs draft Scheifele, but...

Scheifele at 17 - 66gp 75 pts
Spezza at 17 - 56gp 116pts !!

Spezza was also a leader on Team Canada's U20 team in his draft season, despite being a young (June birthday) 17 year old. http://www.iihf.com/hockey/x/0001/W20/gs/pg000076.htm

I compare him to Spezza, but I say Oil take Larsson with the first, and with pick #19 they take Schiefele

Schiefele's rookie season, first line minutes, worst team in the league. He had nobody to play with all year.

His game is more like Paul Statsny than Jason Spezza from what I saw.

I do like that he played top opposition this year. I do like that he can do everything and has a pretty decently high IQ.

Spezza's teams in 00-01 ranged from mediocre (Windsor) to monumental disaster (Mississauga).

Mark Scheifele's Profile (NHL.com)

This is pretty off topic but is there a mistake on his profile favorites:

NHL team: Detroit Red Wings
NHL player: Pavel Datsyuk (Detroit Red Wings)
Shootout move: “Datsyuk’s Move”
Goal celebration: “Bow and Arrow”
Video game: Miley Cyrus
Music artist: Taylor Swift
Website: NHL.com
Book: “A Beautiful Machine” by Graeme Fife
Pump-up song: “Remember the Name” by Fort Minor
Home-cooked meal: Pasta
Activity away from the rink: Mini Sticks

He's 18 not 30....

Being 18 is a lot more like being 13 then most people remember.

Just about any person whose played junior hockey in Kitchener-Waterloo loves Mini-Sticks. Don't know why.

Should his favourite away-from-the-rink activity be playing the stock market or something? I hope he plays mini sticks til the day he dies. Never let your inner child go.
