Saad isn't a bad prospect. I don't get the hate.

Biggs on the other hand, what a joke of a first pick that would be.

Saad sounds like Pacioretty to me actually. Don't know about his skating, but Max was another big kid who didn't really throw his weight around but had a good release.

Saad is Peter Mueller 2.0

Big but soft as butter and is very inconsistent.

I would LOVE Tyler Biggs!

People always want to take a boom or bust prospect. Well, Biggs could be the next Lucic and if not, he'll be a solid, tough grinder.

Take the chance.

His production is abysmal and his PIMs are a joke. He's at best a 3rd line guy.

I'd rather draft the next Getzlaf or Morrow.

Pacioretty has hockey sense.
Saad has none.

Take a big first rounder with little talent? Don't you realize the Habs struggle for goals? They made the type of mistake you're suggesting over and over during the S. Savard and Houle years, resulting in a whole dynasty of failure. Baby, you have no awareness of history. Fortunately, Gauthier hasn't lost his ability to think.

That's Biggs.

Biggs is a you draft him, he gets hockey sense = Chris Stewart
He doesn't get hockey sense = bottom 6 tough guy.

Biggs doesn't have the hands that Stewart has...or had at 17.

Would not touch Biggs, especially not with our 17th.

Would be Vallis or Stevenson version 2.0.

The difference is, Stewart was a force in the OHL in his draft season. Biggs struggled to produce in the USHL. Guys who can't score in junior very rarely can in pro. It happens, but its not smart to bet on it happening for you.

I agree with the Biggs/Stevenson comparison, might actually go that way, but Saad and Ryan were completely different players, Ryan was tough and aggressive, Saad is not...

Not targetting you in particular, but I don't understand the Saad/Biggs thread hijack, there's a draft thread for that...

I imagine the Habs were interviewing Biggs and Saad in case we pick up a 2nd round pick, or one of those two drops into the 3rd round. I can't imagine they'd be considered at #17 in this draft.

Whitesnake, any info on who was at the mini-combine? I'm very curious...

The mini-combine isn't the be-all end-all. It could be mind games with teams near their pick. Drum up interest in Mark McNeill when really you want Mark Scheifele. Put pressure on a team to move up to grab McNeill.

I know for a fact that you can't presume the team's interest in certain players based on if they're invited to the mini-combine or not. There's no way they're going to show their intentions. It has more to do with players about whom they still had a question mark on one aspect or another.

And by the way, from what I gathered at the Combine, Biggs is likely to be taken before Saad. I don't know if Habs are interested in Biggs, but he should be gone by 20-25.
