Ain't Nothing But a "Gee" Thang.

Bay sucks, hope he enjoys the bench. Yes I know people will say he enjoys his paychecks. But these guys still wanna play, and he wont if he continues to hit like I would in the MLB.

Not in this thread. Your fellow Mets fans understand, and the Yankees fans...I mean c'mon even our towelboy makes 175 mil over 8 years, so we can't talk.

Sorry for the double post, didnt want to edit. Warning this is gonna be long, but...

As for the future of the Mets, what needs to be done is obvious. Wilpon is in a heap of a mess with this billion dollar lawsuit and the debt he is currently in. Alderson was the perfect person to bring in, as was Collins as Manager. Alderson was part of Billy Beane's "Money Ball", and he knows what it takes to put the best product on the field without spending big money. Collins is the no nonsense manager who plays what he believes is best for the team (see Jay Bay).

What needs to be done will be done. Reyes and Beltran are on contract years, they are playing for their paycheck. As exciting it is to see them playing well again (Reyes especially), they need to be traded. As much as I wish we were able to keep Reyes, it just isnt possible. This team will not be spending like they have in the past. He needs to be traded for all the prospects we can get. I do not know what the prospect pools of teams like Red Sox and Giants look like, but those are teams that have a need at SS and hopefully something we can get worked out. Likewise Beltran and any other valuable Met WILL be traded at or near the deadline (Krod included).

So with that we have us trading Reyes, Beltran, Krod and others for prospects. Which hurts me to say it, but means Wright MUST be traded too. If all others are traded, which I expect. How could you bury someone like Wright on a celler dwelling team. Compare Wright to what Lundqvist would be if we had ZERO chance of making the playoffs, we would all hope him the best on a new team for the sake of him achieving his goal.

I wish this wasn't the direction we were headed, but I honestly don't see any other possibilities. Sports Illustrated had a great article on Wilpon. I honestly believe he did not know what he was getting into, but whats done is done. We need a new face owning our team. so I personally hope the lawsuit holds up, he us unable to pay back the 200 Mil to the new minority share owner and we have a new direction in 2plus years.

Prediction...Reyes-Giants, Beltran-Tigers, Krod-Cardinals...Wright-Next year

What's with all these guys getting thrown at after homers. I will enjoy to watch Cleveland fall out of the race.

Eh, Cleveland has enough talent to hang around the top of the AL Central for the rest of the year. There's really not any front runner in that division, as the White Sox are pretty "meh" and Detroit is Detroit. If Fausto Carmona can get it turned around, Cleveland will have a real shot at the division.

We just got ****ed out of a run. JayBay actually did something useful and the umps say Murph left the base too early when he tagged up while he clearly didn't.

What a ****ing joke.

edit- Looks like they called Pagan out instead. Run still counts. Phew.

We got it back. It was Pagan that didn't retouch second when heading back to first.

That would've been a backbreaker if we didn't get a run out of that.

I thought it went into Pagan's glove. I think if it hit the wall it wouldn't have landed in his glove the way it did.

Don't know why Hurdle was so adamant about that. I guess he was pissed about the run counting and just wanted to get run.

Turner's stick is legit. When we acquired him, the book on him was that he had a good contact swing, played decent defense, and was a gamer. All sounds accurate so far.

He's all that. He's been a revelation so far. He could always hit but he really has a good eye. Great plate discipline.

Parnell has such filthy stuff. He just needs to relax and let it happen.

This staff is really having a terrific run. Feeding off each other. It's exciting to see it.

I'd rather see Parnell throw 93 or 94 and control his pitches than sit at a wild 98. He just overthrows too often. Great arm though.

Bobby Parn hit 100 mph on that last pitch there, wow.

Good game. Glad to see it all click at the end there for the offense and Cap has himself another very good game. Reyes is the ****ing man.

Yeah, Reyes is playing out of his mind. Up to. 346, OPS well over .900.

Yeah pretty much. His problems are is he can't control his pitches, doesn't have an out pitch, and has no movement on his fastball. If he threw a 96 MPH fastball with some movement, it would be unhittable.

If he could actually throw it for a strike, his slider could be an out pitch. Again though, the dude struggles to hit the broad side of a barn.
