The comparable's being Marleau-Thorton-Heatley, Bickell-Bolland-Pisani and Callahan-Dubinsky-Anisemov as the league's top tough minute lines.

Throwing away all the work that went into making Kostitsyn a two-way player just to see him dipsy-doodle again at this point is asinine.
Actually, I think Kosty needs to be able to do a little bit of both. It's a little bit of reward for doing the little things right. I like him on right wing because he has a knack for cutting in from that side and letting a laser go.

Sure but the answer wasn't to let him lose last season. He was too valuble as a two-way winger to do that.

If the Habs bring in someone else to play RW with Plekanec, then sure, have him go nuts on the third line with Eller.

The point is that Kostitsyn has developed into a decent two-way winger. He's not an excellent one like Gionta but he can play to role. This is much more valuable than the pure scorer he used to be and he should be kept on this path.

Glad he's re-signed. Still think he has a ton of talent.

lol what a sack of **** this player is really.

Insanely talented, but the most capricious player in the league. His play can go from dominant to dormant if a breeze isn't quite the right temperature.

26 years old man and still a rookie in his mind.

Not a bad signing though, he might be dominant one day.

You must have been watching another series.

I thought he played well, he was hobbled a bit after coming back, you could tell the foot affected his skating but he still battled and had a pretty good series.

So yeah, the Habs offered something, and A.Kost signed... that's all we know right now, and that's all anyone can tell us at this point. Once the league puts the rubber stamp to it, the salary becomes official and then is released to the public.
I would think that the fact that the club is making an official announcement through a media release is enough to assume that a done deal has been arrived at and league approvals obtained.

I agree with OP, it's an out-dated policy that is a remnant from a day long ago when salaries weren't published.
