Oilers prospect rankings at HF Oilers

Just wondering when this list was last updated, mid season or post-season?

Interesting - Chorney at 16, Plante at 6? Has anyone ever seen it that way? Do people really think so little of Chorney or so much of Plante?

I rarely ever see ahl games, I was at the one in Abbotsford and I don't think I even saw 1 game on tv this year so I'm not claiming to know better but I always had the impression that Chorney was ahead for some reason.

Hartikainen is at 10 and he + Vandevelde had one of the better lines in training camp. Even for a mid-season ranking this seems low to me.

I still have a little faith in Plante but I agree with you, I think the list would be a little different but I have never cared for Chorney. Also Mixing in all relevant college signings. Seperating by Forward and D/Goal

Forward
Anton Lander
Teemu Hartikainen
Linus Omark
Tyler Pitlick
Curtis Hamilton
Tanner House
Chris VandeVelde
Milan Kytnar

Defense
Martin Marincin
Jeff Petry
Colten Teubert
Alex Plante
Tyler Bunz
Jeremy Blain
Olivier Roy
Taylor Chorney
Brandon Davidson
Taylor Fedun

I'd have Omark at #1, Hartikainen at #2, Lander #3 and Martindale #4 for the fwds but I know that list clashes with the entire rest of the hockey world. Until Lander skates on this side of the pond I can't put him at 1 or 2.

I think Chorney will impress a lot of people this season. He has surprising strength for someone so young with such average size, kinda like a poor man's version of the Dion who came in solid like a bull although he was only listed at 206. He competed at the highest level possible at the u-18 level and I think he has it in him to push himself to make it at the nhl level too. I'd put him top 3, ahead of Teubert and the rest.

Hall played 65 games, Omark didn't.

That's the line in the sand.

Hamilton > Martindale

Others don't really have a NHL future, so it does not matter how they rank.

I think Pitlick and Hartikainen will have longer NHL careers than Omark and anyone else in our system.

personally I have never put much faith into the HF rankings--others have often taken it for scripture--but I think the way the lists are put together sometimes leaves much to be wanted
