I've seen him play a bit, I think people here are underestimating how good Gallagher is. He isn't that slow, he's strong as an ox and has nice vision and a decent shot.
Who knows how that will translate into the NHL, but I like his chances, the kids a winner.
Yeah i think so too. I think people kind of disregard stats in the Junior ranks now, because of players like Locke and Masse and other small guys who ended not really making it. Gallagher put up big points on a team that wasn't that great offensively. Even when their supposed best all-around forward was traded (Cunningham), Gallagher didn't slow down one bit. The kid's got drive and plays with a chip on his shoulder. I guess because we drafted him so late, people just assume he can't possibly be that good, but stranger things have happened in drafts. I think he's going to turn heads really soon, and i bet his coming out party will be at the WJC.
From this video:
- This kid has drive like his arse is on fire
- This kid has a shot!
- This kid absolutely loves to score and does what it takes
- This kid is unmoveable in the crease, no matter how many inches you got on him!
Do we have a keeper here? Why would we target Grimaldi when he's in the system? Next year: AHL?

If by "next year" you mean 2011-2012, he's back in the WHL. This kid JUST turned 19 a month ago. He looks like a good prospect, but he's still got a ways to go.
Would be nice to see both Gallagher and Bournival on Team Canada at the WJCs. Both should have solid shots at it. Nice to have some good, developing CHL prospects again (outside of Leblanc's one season). Been since Maxwell and White were tearing up the West that we could be excited about young guys from these leagues.
when can we expect Gallagher in the AHL or NHL? is he even going to be at training camp this year?
i really like the kid. lot of drive and he goes to the net like a cruise missile
Gallagher has to return to the dub for one more year, he can join the Dogs next Spring when his season is over in the WHL. It will be interesting to see how he does the following season when he turns pro and has to go up against much older players that are more physically mature.
If Gallagher can contribute like Marchand some day, without all the between whistle typical Bruin BS, I'll be quite content.
For sure. Marchand's elusiveness and creativity, combined with the intensity he brings to the game, make him a good 2nd/3rd line 2-way player. Gallagher has the potential to be that type of player too.
Wow, he is like Jordan Eberle, Michael Camalleri, Brad Marchand and Brian Gionta.
I agree with the Marchand comparison. But he isn't an agitator, more a banger with soft hand like Steve Downie (new comparison hehe). He doesn't have quick feet, but the important isn't if he is fast, but how he uses his speed.
I saw Gallagher at the Training camp and don't under-rate what he can do. He is fast. Contrary to what people believe he is also really feisty for his size. And as Felkov pointed out he is extremely clutch. He is one of our best offensive prospects if not the best (After Avtsin) in pure goal scoring talent.

Until he bulks up a bit, I think the best comparison is Tyler Ennis (another small former 40 goal/90 point WHL guy), but I don't think he has quite the speed of Ennis.

Grimaldi is like Gallagher but on roids. He has more offensive ability and is faster. But he also is small like G-Man.
Say what you want about Gallagher he's not going to quit on his team, a healthy scratch in his last jr game and a cancer on his team like Marchand was in Halifax

He reminds me of Tucker, when he was still in Kamloops.
