What are plans B and C if the Bryzgalov deal falls through?

First of all, I do think a deal will be reached with Bryzgalov. I think based on all of the factors involved (revolving door in goal during the playoffs, Snider coming out and saying that goaltending needs addressed, acquiring Bryzgalov's rights, etc) that Holmgren has to get this done.

That being said, if the deals does fall through, what's plan B and C, and please don't say Bobrovsky. I think the Flyers learned from last summer when they struck out on Nabokov and Turco and settled for Leighton. Bobrovsky isn't a scrub like Leighton, but still, they know they need to do something big.

I think the obvious choice for plan B is Tomas Vokoun. I think pretty much everyone would agree.

However, what if he re-signs with Florida, or doesn't have interest in coming to Philly, or gets a huge offer from elsewhere that Holmgen doesn't feel comfortable.
It might be a big IF to strike out on both Bryzgalov and Vokoun, but if we get to that point I will be extremely worried. I guess plan C would be Roloson or a trade for Steve Mason, but neither option makes me overly comfortable.

So what's your plan B, and plan C if god forbid we get to that point.

Longshot, but maybe target Quick, although admittedly unlikely.

But if not for Bryz or Vokoun? We're quite ****ed without trading something valuable i'd think.

Panic and blame Homer, Leighton, Boucher, the refs, Bettman, and anyone else for the failure to get him signed, even if he was asking for $9 million a year.

We are going to have to get rid of something very valuable to sign Bryz anyway.

Stick with Bob, which isn't a bad plan at all.

Vokoun was my first choice anyway.
Plan B -Vokoun
Plan C-trade for Bernier or Schneider
Plan D- trade for Nabokov
Plan E -Roloson
Plan F-Find the widest fattest Sumo Wrestler who does splits to tend goal.

b. Vokoun
c. Roloson (could be a good option as Bob can still play 40 games, and might win the job anyway, but Roloson is awesome in the playoffs)

That's what I'd probably put my money on. But Nabokov is a little more iffy though than the others.

Yeah. I'm nowhere close to convinced that the ticking time bomb in Emery's hip has been defused.

Meanwhile last year Thomas who's injury wasn't even close to the risk associated with that of Emery...was deemed too high risk. It was indeed a risk but man Emery to me takes the cake that Steven's baked...
