Ran it through my favorite translator, the report says that Omsk and Jagr are done because of salary and the foreign player limit, then you have
Quote:
According to sports information in game four clubs, but most traces of the current situation leads to an elite group of Detroit Red Wings. "When we are talking about and Jarda, I also told him that this team was appropriate. And because the older players have a good long-term experience, "says Jelinek.
Don't know if any of it's legit or not. Doesn't sound like a really solid, factual based report from what I could tell. Seems like speculation that Jagr could fit on the Wings.
It's my opinion that 99% of the rumors that circulate about Jaromir Jagr have no substance to them. How many rumors have we heard about him returning to the NHL in the 3 years he's been gone? Even Jagr stirs the pot when he talks to the media and then tries to re-sign in the KHL.
Mumblus? You know, when he talks to Czech reporters he usually speaks in Czech language . Not to mention that he himself didn't say anything about where he would play next year. He repeats over and over that he does not know at this point and that there is really no rush to make any decision now.
There are no reports about him joining Torts and NYR either. In fact this one article and their source (former personal coach of Jagr and head coach of Martin Straka's Plzen club) says, the return to NYR is very unlikely.
Anyhow his return to the NHL is very possible. More than any time before because as you may know, he became majority owner in his home town Kladno hockey club. He has a lot of work to do there (club has financial issues) and camps of KHL teams start in late July / early August.
Coach Jelinek thinks Jagr will return to the NHL. He told him Detroit would be ideal destination and Jagr seems to agree.
I don't think anyone knows except Jagr, and he may not yet even have his mind made up on where he'd want to play the most. I'd love him back in Rangers blue, but if not, I'd rather see him come back to the NHL anyway, whether it's Detroit or Pittsburgh or Nashville or whomever. If I had my choices other than the Rangers though, I'd love to see him play with Datsyuk in Detroit.

In my opinion he will not return to the NHL. This is speculation on my part obviously but I feel like he doesn't like the pressure/burden of having to live up to the expectations created by his legacy from his earlier years in the league. I.E. Jagr would never want to return to the NHL and be a 50-60 point forward and go out like that. He wants to live up to his reputation but approaching 40 and playing in a younger, faster, more talented league makes that increasingly harder to do.
I'd certainly cheer, but there are idiots out there who'd boo him for leaving.
Probably the same idiots who said the team would be better off with Drury and Gomez.
It's kinda funny how it all turned out. There were so many posters on here saying how Jags was done, that no way he deserved a multi year deal.....saying he wouldn't be worth garbage after those two years he wanted would have been up, and how the team was now built for the future with Dreary and Gomer.
Now, here we are three years later.....Jagr is still playing at an extremely high level with a great possibility of returning to the NHL and the team has done everything they can to get rid of that "future" that so many thought looked so bright three short years ago.
Think Slats has the balls to say "Yeah, I screwed up bigtime!"??? I don't.
Detroit already has the oldest team. Soon after they sign Jagr they're going to have to start stocking the training room with depends and denture cleaner.

By trading Gomez, burying Redden in the minors, and getting close to cutting Drury, he's basically already admitted it.
