RDS2 for 2011-2012

http://www.rds.ca/divers/chroniques/321296.html

They acquire March Madness, rugby world cup, MLS and Tour de France rights. RIS will now be called RDS Info and will be in HD. Their new channel, RDS2, will also be in HD.

Now, they just need commentators that won't make me want to murder them.

and stop relying on "joueurnalist" as their "inhouse intellectuals"... lol FML

Who said it last week? Mathias Brunet maybe? but the ex-players LACK the added touch that a real professional analyst has.

yes he will bring some "real life" insight. "in the locker room, we used to..."
but they will just comment on the play : "what a shot"
and will not analyse that as well as Dany Dubé or Pierre McGuire (is pierre a good analyst?)

With the new TVA sports station as well as this new RDS 2 station, it seems like there simply won't be enough live sports content to fill out all these TV hours. When you are showing rugby and cycling.............

Which means more garbage shows like l'antichambre and whatever that other garbage show on TVA/LCN is called.

And yeah, it's a joke they are not showing more QMJHL hockey as part of this.

So all the stuff they were showing on RIS when RDS was booked will now be RDS 2. Very "TSN" of them. lol

Unless they are ready to show different NFL games at the same time on RDS and RDS 2 on sunday afternoons...but I doubt it. And they usually took ''marquee games'' already being shown on FOX/CBS/CTV anyway.

So the other ones to get to 80 will most likely be the Thursday night game (already on Sportsnet), the Sunday night game (already on NBC/TSN) and the Monday Night game (already on TSN).

At least, they have a good football crew with Denis and Pierre.

Happy to see a more diverse content. Rugby and basketball are nice additions. Same with MLS but I'm kinda sad they will have a total of 30 games next season including Impact, TFC, VWFC and MLS Cup games. That means not all Impact games will be on TV unless another channel is willing to show them(Radio-Canada, TVA Sports?). Also, I agree with more QJMHL games and some Bulldogs games. They also need that occasional NBA games like they used to show. I'm sure people would watch it, I mean, there was a lot of interest in this years' playoff, even here in Québec.

Actually, it happened more than a few times that they showed games on RDS that was not on Quebec regional broadcast of Fox/CTV.

It's good news for me if it means that I get more Packers game presented (missed a couple last season).

I just hope they show the Impact games on regular RDS. Don't wanna subscribe to RDS2 for Impact games! The only other interesting thing to me on there, are the football games, but I'm already signed up for NFL Sunday ticket!
