Is next year Jacques last contract year? If things don t go well in Ottawa again next year, maybe he would leave to be next GM over there and Muller can just slide in as the next habs HC,
theres no way hes not coming back if he doesnt get hired somewhere else.
Every NHL coach is that kind of person. They all want to make up their staffs with people they choose themselves. And they all have a certain amount of ego, or they couldn't be in those jobs. None of them wants to deal with an assistant with a different philosophy, who's more personable and potentially a candidate to take their jobs.
Muller could very well be out of work come July 1, just because the Habs don't want him back. It's not nice to think about, but it wouldn't be the first time the organization has let a popular person go.

Do you really want to go through a rookie head coach again? We seen that we are good at building coaching talent but they don't deliver results for us. We've trained Julien, Vig, Therrien, etc... all went to the finals after cutting their teeth in Montreal.
Do you honestly think that Muller who has never been a head coach at a serious level will bring this team to the Stanley Cup? He hasn't developed his own systems yet, he doesn't have assistants that support his style.
I'd honestly rather go way back in time and hire Jacques Demers before I'd hire Muller as head coach at this point.
But if I was PG, I'd offer Muller a head coach's salary to remain assistant coach with us and show him how Babcock's assistant took the detroit model of overdeveloping and served like 6 years as an assistant.

Where's this all coming from??? Muller was running drills at our prospect development camp just a few days ago.
SunGarrioch Bruce Garrioch So with the Stars ready to hire their minor-league coach, Kirk Muller's chance to be a head coach is down to New Jersey or Winnipeg.
SunGarrioch Bruce Garrioch The talk in NHL circles: Muller doesn't interview well and doesn't have enough experience behind the bench.

I'm almost 100% sure that Claude Noel is getting the job in Winnipeg.

Jacques Demers is a senator now hes not gonna be coaching and plus it would get confusing if we keep Jacques Martin too many Jacques!
I personally believe there is 0% chance he comes back with the habs whether a team hires him as a bench boss or not.
I think he would rather be a head coach in the AHL that be second fiddle again.
Especially that he let it be known that he was leaving the organization.

If he wanted to coach in the AHL the team would have given him Hamilton last season.

Lets just hope we get another players coach. It seems Muller got along real well with the players. It was a good cop bad cop deal with JM. Muller gave less criticism and more accolades to the players.
