It is pretty much a guarantee that Luongo will be traded and probably soon. There are rumors going arround that JFJ has put in an offer for Luongo and this is what JFJ has offered.

Belfour, Stajan, Steen and Klee for Luongo.
Rumours going around where? I say he stays in FLA.
The source on the offer is coming from code. But he is not saying that they are front runners or anything just that they are a team who has talked to Keenan and this is the package that JFJ has offered. Anyways I think he will end up in Montreal for Theodore, Ryder and some other prospect.
Why would Keenan not trade him now when he wouldn't get jack for him next year when he will certainly walk after what happened between Keenan and Luongo.

why would Keenan not try to re-sign him before he can walk?

Wow, if thats true (which it probably isnt since theres no link at all), that is by far the worst trade deal I have EVER heard. Would never happen and if it ever did, I'd be part of the email-mob that would flood JFJ's inbox (if I had his email).

The source of rumours such as these is probably tea leaves, or a dream about 38 lean years, or possibly a dove landed on his shoulder to announce it.
Stajan, Belfour, Steen and Klee for Luongo? Give it a break. 2 guys will probably retire within the next year or so- 1 is a sketchy player at best and 1 is a prospect- good deal why not throw in belak for J-bo and Wiess.
Unfortuantely Leaf fans cannot recognize the reality of their crippled CBA situation.

I can only see Belfour retiring in the next couple years, and those two players are very good young players.
Keenan put the boots to Loopy and Luongo hauling them off to arbitration and treating them poorly. He will pay for that mistake.
Lupien said the Panthers essentially said that goaltenders on good teams make money, and goalies on lesser teams don't.
"We're going to take that into consideration," Lupien said. "When Roberto reaches free agency in two years, he's going to say, 'OK, I want to stay but you're telling me that for me to make money, I have to leave.'
However this morning Luongo leaves the door open to stay,
Still, Lupien offered assurances that his client will put the experience behind him and be ready when training camp begins Sept. 14. In fact, Luongo was on the ice with his goaltending coach, Francois Allaire, Thursday morning in Montreal.
"I think he is a professional, and he's going to show everyone that," Lupien said. "Now the Panthers need to show what they were telling him in the last week: That they're going to keep getting better, so he's going to want to stay."
Lupien remained confident that, regardless of where he plays, his client ultimately will earn more than the $25 million the Panthers were offering over the next five years. If he signs another one-year deal next summer, Luongo can be an unrestricted free agent in 2007.
Luongo added, "In a couple of years, when I become a free agent, I can make that money back."

Why wouldnt he ...he did trade Shanahan to get a potential number one D-man in Pronger ...he's not completely insane, he knows how to build a winner FAST

this would be a steal for toronto ...Number one goalie ...potential No 1 in the world, for at best two 2nd liners (most likely a #2 center and a #3 center) and a 3/4/5 d-man, and Belfour in perhaps his last year.
...and utter and complete steal for the Leafs.

Agreed.
Could be anywhere that needs a goalie when he's a UFA I guess, which of course would definitely include Toronto. No way in hell he's staying in Miami.
There was already one thread closed becasue code is about as much of a source as my mailman's brothers uncle's sister cat pontioficating about Luongo. Actualyl if the cat spoke (and I was sober) I woudl tend to belive the cat over "code"

Keenan was on TSN saying "it is not our intention of trading Luongo"
Here is the link www.tsn.ca/nhl
scroll down to first audio clip. 1 on 1 with Keenan.
Secondly this thread is a duplicate. Here is the original refuting of evidence of Luongo ever being traded.
