THN Has A "High Standard Of Journalism"; Apologizes To Wild Owners

Sort of sad how this was overlooked by the local hockey media Russo (lets be honest, he's the only one) but apparently The Hockey News did a nice piece (and by nice piece I mean the usual Campbell libelf)on how Leipold would buy out Falcone if he gets indicted by the SEC.

Looks like they apologized, but how sad is it that this story hasn't gotten any play in the Twin Cities media?

Whoops!

I'm guessing the reason Russo hasn't said boo about it is because the original article wasn't accurate. I guess he's got better things to do like tweet about the ridiculous amount of Geico commericals during the Cup Finals.

Now he just tweeted a blog that talks about how Craig responded to the retraction.

Campbell columns are always terrible. I don't know how they even have him writing for them anymore

He always gets an opinion. Of course for most fanbases that opinion is negative but...

I'm guessing he didn't post the original because he didn't want to give them free traffic for this crap.

I have no idea what it all meant but it is surprising that Campbell didn't at least contact one of Leipold/Falcone for the token "no comment".

that sounds awfully noble and unrealistic. What better way of drumming up hits for your work than expounding on someone else's controversial crap? I can see him not wanting to comment because he maybe didn't know what was going on and didn't want to stick his hands in it for fear of working up some enmity from the Wild organization, though. It was free news for him any way he decided to play it, but you never know how touchy someone is going to be when you're talking about something as big-stakes as this.

Actually I didn't post the original because THN took it down.

I was actually talking about why Russo didn't post/discuss the original.

Well he at least reads the Hockey's Future part:

Quote:
McIntyre, 24, played four years at Colgate, scoring 82 points his final two years. He was originally drafted in the fifth round by Dallas, has played in Anaheim, New Jersey and Minnesota systems now in the past year and scored 30 points in 78 games for Albany last year with 51 penalty minutes.

Nothing flashy, but there's offensive upside, he's fast and works hard.

Here's his scouting report from Hockey's Future
