If you join the Hockey Analysis Group on Yahoo, they have a file with all the team PP/PK Stats since `64.

To answer your question, I believe the worst mark ever was the `79-`80 LA Kings at 67.7%. Though since PP percentages were higher in the 80s, the true best way to figure it out would be to normalize the team totals against the league average for each year; something I haven`t done.

BTW, the foursome who usually killed penalties on that Kings team were Mike Murphy, Butch Goring (traded to NYI at the deadline), Rob Palmer and Doug Halward.

That's interesting, although I haven't joined the group you mentioned (I probably should just to get this info), I did some PK/PP calculations of my own in the late 90's and according to those, that very same LA team led the league in 79/80 with 82 PP goals. (Simmer with 21, Dionne 17, Taylor 12 etc).

As a sidenote, another stats I counted was team PIM totals, and topping that list was 91/92 Sabres with 2713, with 88/89 Pens second with 2670.

The famous Broad Street Bullies lead the league in PIMs 11 years in a row from 71/72 season till 81/82.
