I hate him ever since and I'd be afraid that if he gets Brunet's job it'll just be same french-praising, kostitsyn-bashing all over again.

It's actually a comedy show listening to these guys on draft day.

I might be wrong on that but you may be confusing Flynn with Therrien. (Because it's Therrien who does the late draft rounds on RIS). Flynn is often the analyst during the international competition, so I always found him to be less bias toward quebecois players than most of the RDS crew.
As for Denis, I believe it when I'll see it. However, the fact that he left his coaching position with the Sags because he had other professionnal engagement is giving more hope.

I have thrown a crapload of rocks at Brunet over the years but I have to give him this: he did improve this season. He was a lot more fluent and "well" spoken than during his first two years (it has been three years, right?). He still say stupid things once in a while and had some very annoying habits (gros bonhomme, jeune vébaire, etc) but, overall, he improved a lot.
This year Brunet was not as bad as in the previous seasons. Not saying he's good, but I saw some kind of improvement I guess. He was a bit less annoying. There's not a much better choice out there (which is REALLY sad considering it's hockey for god sake), except Dubé which seems impossible.
Yea he was still mediocre but had sort of evacuated all the little annoying things that he used to say. (like "J'Aime ce que je voix" *bleh*)
RDS need to find guys that are professional and competent but not dull. The only guys I respect there are Marc Denis and Denis Casavant but boy they are so lifeless.
I maintain that Joel would be better as color than at ice level. I've listened to him about 5 time working as colors and while jumpy, he was excellent.
BTW in retrospect it was strange seeing Houde talking to Brunet after the final saying "I've loved working with you in the last 3 years". I should have gotten the int.

Another thing I hate from Brunet is that for him, a game is over at 3-0 with like 25 minutes to play. And he does this more than often.
He's always saying something like this: "Bel arret de Price, a 3-0, ca serait termine pour le Canadiens." (in the middle of the 2nd period.)
Yeah let's hope they hire the guy who hates a pick he's never even once heard of or seen play just because they weren't Quebecois. You know what? I could honestly see him being the #1 candidate He'll fit right in with the other legit RDS people
