I voted for Peumpel - He was viewed as a top 5 before the season started. He had a terrible year playing on a terrible team. If he bounces back which he could. We would have a steal.

After 6'9 Chara just won the cup I doubt Oleksiak will be there at #17... The kid is 6'7, 240lbs at 18yrs old... he might still grow.

Same as Tinordi or Gill... but you don't have to be extremely physical to be effective. I only mentionned Chara because every GM are likely thinking : ''damn I could use some giant freak D on my team...'' And ther aren't many.

I would love me some Klefbom, if Scheifele is gone.

As others have posted, Miller fits the Timmins profile, I voted for him.

I'd be happy to add either of those players, but the Habs have been using 1st round draft picks to address organizational weaknesses, and we have young offensive defencemen in Subban and Weber. Not the draft philosophy I'd go with, but it's what the team has been doing.

Also, I'd bet on Klefbom being gone by 17.

Out of the players displayed, here is my ranking..

1- Scheifele. - Right handed shot, center, size, vision, creativity.
2. JT Miller - Big, Works Hard, Skates, Has some offence in him.
3. Nicklas Jensen - Big, has a lot of flair and can break a game open. Boom or bust.
4. Matthew Puempel - Goal scorer. Something we could use.
5. Mark MacNeill - He's hard nosed, might get some points.
6. Klefbom - If we're going for a D, we might as well get the more complete one.
7. Khoklachev - Small, russian, but immensely skilled.
8. Beaulieu - We have a lot of puck rushers, puck movers, offensive D, he's good, but we have an abundance..
9. Boone Jenner - Louis Leblanc v. 2
10. Brodin - Klefbom lite.
11. Grimaldi - Small but skilled...
12. Ty Rattie - Product of the team?
13. Phillips - Product of the team?
14. Oleksiak - Blow another first rounder on a big d man with limited offensive upside?
15. Morrow - Least spectacular D.

Scheifele is intriguing he has upside....made great strides this year. I'm not why you find Morrow unspectacular....I think he might be the best offensive d-man in this list. Did you vote for Scheifele?

Tinordi is not soft, he just dosnt know how to use is size yet(not even in shot blocking department) but when he does use it he destroys people as for shot blocking let's just hope hal gill will be ass. coach

He's not in the pool, but my choice is:

Tyler Biggs

He's just what we need.

oooops didn't fit him in....I like this guy....but I think he is a late 1st/early 2nd pick at this point....not enough upside. Reminds me of Wayne Primeau....so close but just not enough skill....if he develops well though he could be a great player

Let's trade our 1st to the Leafs for two of their picks and lets pick Oleksiak and Biggs, then go for all the Goodrow and Ewanyk of the draft. So in the next drafts you will be able to draft smallish players without shame.

I voted Puempel because I think Scheifele and Mcniel are gone before 17 and Miller doesn't excite me very much.

Imagine a backend of skilled players in 2-3 years of Subban and Weber with middle anchors of Markov, Wiz, Gorges and youth towers in Tinordi and Oleksiak???

I voted McNeil for no other reason than I want him. I have my doubts that he will drop to 17 though, and I do not believe Gauthier will be moving to move up like last year.

I should have read the title again.

Who Timmins will pick and who I want are different. Though, JT Miller is a Timmins pick and I like that pick, just not my first choice.

He's not soft, but for his size people might say he is. In an interview (I believe it was a video one from this site) he said he wants to work on that and be more physical.

Tyler Biggs' upside is tremendous. He'll be the McIlrath of this draft. Very tough player, who if reaches his potential is very deserving of his draft position, but in all likelihood will be a 4, 5, 6 dman/Goon. Biggis will be bottom 6 energy guy/goon if he doesn't reach his full potential.
