Thankfully. Nedved playing means that one of Boyle/Stepan didn't.

As for Jagr, can't really see the point. I'd rather see whether MZA or someone else can earn that RW spot.

Also, despite him putting up 70+ points in his last season here, I seem to remember lots of fans, both at MSG and on this bored getting pretty upset with Jagr's efforts, especially defensively.

Other than nostalgia, why?

I'd say Jagr gives you 2 years tops, why not see whether or not MZA (or someone else) can become an effective 40-50 pt player who can give 4+ years service.

If we'd just lost the ECF I could probably get on board with Jagr but as it stands it just seems like a waste...

Jagr would be a one year deal.

And my desire for him would have to come after we have signed BR.

fair enough. Would Jagr bother coming back over for a 1 year deal?

i think so. He has to see what he actually has left. Maybe he doesnt get as much as he likes but goes out and produces and earns himself another 1 year deal with either the same team or another one. No one is going to give him a 3 year contract that is for sure. 2 years is really stretching it.

Would you like to make a friendly bet?

I bet if Jagr comes back to the NHL plays at least 75 games that he will get more than 30 goals and more than 70 Pts, if he doesn't I will change my avatar to "Jagr sucks".

*LOOOOOL*

He didn't even produce at that rate in the KHL where he was beaten on the scoring list by "epic" players such as Patrick Thoresen, Matt Ellison, Josef Stümpel, Josef Straka, Jan Bulis, Geoff Platt, Josef Vasicek, Branko Radivojevic, Jiri Hudler, Marcel Hossa, Patrick Thoresen, Mathias Weinhandl and Alexei Yashin for the past couple of seasons.

That's because the KHL bores Jagr to death. It turns stars into not much and not much into stars.

In fairness to Jagr, Patrick Thoreson must've been balling out of control, because he did enough to appear twice on your list there.

Zipay says he doesnt think Jagr is coming to NY.

We'll have to look for either continued MZA development, or perhaps a Thomas breakout for that vacant RW spot not occupied by Gaborik, Callahan, and Prust.

So sad to see Jagr degenerate into a punch drunk boxer type who keeps trying for another pay day and bright publicity lights.

I really dont think thats what this is all about. Yeah who doesnt want to get paid, but the realization for him was that the KHL is a joke. Its a mess right now over there. He couldve went and got his payday in the Czech league or somewhere else. He wants to play in the NHL. He's not a stupid man, he's knows he's 39 years old and he knows the type of competition he's getting into. I see this as him challenging himself.

Gagne or Jokinen are much better fits at this point.

Leadership is much more than that. Everything we have ever heard about drury throughout his career, not just as a ranger, has been praise when it comes to leadership.

And btw i love jagr, would take him back in a heartbeat. But keep it real. Ignorance is bliss.
Nothing to do with Stats, i dont care What Drury did in little league or on any other team as i did not see him or watch him do any of it so it is all heresay just like when some analysts like Joe try to play off that Drury adds so much to this team in things including leadership when we all kno its bs. The fact is Jagr was a leader when he was here. Guys like Straka, Rozi, Malik, Dubi heck even Avery respected the guy not just because of points but because of the passion he has for the game. Why dont you watch the interview after Rangers lost to Buff and tell me Dru cared or was ever more of a leader for this team.

Jagr on a one year deal = MOTIVATED JAGR

Perhaps the most motivated Jagr to date....

could be a very good signing for any team

I'd actually be shocked if he didn't go back to Pittsburgh. The team that drafted him, the team that has Malkin and Crosby. I'd love to have Jagr back if he is willing take a 1 year deal for a small amount of money.

LOL

He would be, arguably, the most dangerous offensive weapon on the Rangers.

Infact a motivated JJ could very well be A LOT OF FUN TO WATCH night in night out

I would love to see him back with Pittsburgh. Make nice with the fanbase. Take a victory lap and retire #68

The Pens PP would be rediculous

I'd take Jagr for a year at 4m max, but don't give him the C again.

We've been saying the latter for how many years? LOL.

Well, maybe now that Yeo is gone, they'll improve...

I was actually just thinking about that. Does he get the C again? I think you have to give it to Cally no matter what.

The Karate Kid says not signing Jagr is like not using the Flying Crane Technique to win the tournament against a boy from Cobra Kai Dojo. It's indefensible!!!

Jesse Spector in his article today, says a source informs him that Jagr to Montreal is likely... And that Rangers are unlikely to be in play.
