If Vancouver wanted Price, they'd be packaging in Kesler along with Luongo and taking back Price, Gomez and something decently high (not Subban). That is absolute insanity and as a Canuck fan, I vomit on it however it is reasonably how valuable Price is to Montreal. He and Subban's value are exceptional to the organization. Having to take on Luongo's behemoth of a contract would only make the demand worse, hence Kesler.
Carey Price is younger, cheaper and better then Luongo.

I don't think Montreal would have a problem giving their franchise goaltender a huge raise, and I'm pretty sure Price would re-sign in Montreal given how they treat him here now. He's matured a lot!
Cleary the OP doesn't no how good Price played last season. Not his fault, he's probably from the west coast and never saw him play a lot. One of the best young goalies there is and Lou's value is at it's lowest. Maybe Price + Gomez for Luongo + Kesler. But it would just never happen.
So after seeing how Luongo gets absolutely blown up everytime he plays in Boston, Montreal is frothing at the mouth to obtain his services? When Price played Stellar in Boston in the playoffs? Price is also Cheaper and younger. I don't understand the logic of why Montreal does this.
Luongo's contract and his crapping the bed in some games this final make this OP impossible.
Sorry, but Vancouver should keep their core group together and try to add to it somehow (some talented grit and heart to the 2nd/3rd lines, a tough nosed dman). really not missing too much, I mean seriously, they lost in game 7 of the SCF to a team that got some lucky bounces to get to the finals (before they dominated 4 of those 7 games).
If this deal would of been suggested at the end of last year, the tables would of been completely turned around. Montreal would of been all over this like a dirty shirt, and Van would of laughed emphatically in the face of the Habs. The value of this deal is not nearly as outrageous as everyone is making it out to be, the problem however is timing. Luongo's value right now is at an all time low, and Price's value is very high after the tremendous season he had. So to suggest this trade at this time does not make any sense. And also now that Price has shown signs that he is capable of being that franchise goalie, I doubt the Habs trade him for Lu because of how much younger and cheaper he is. IMO, the only way this would ever happen is if another Roy-like incident ever happens with Price.
Um...Im an oilers fan....I have no allegiance to either Price or Luongo. The fans treat both like crap. I just though it was a move that could make sense since Van City fans won't seem to give Luongo a break. He will most likely win the Vezina this year. Price wasn't even a finalist. Look how the MTL fans treated him in the last playoffs.
Luongo is gonna win the Vezina? Have you not heard of Tim Thomas? Id go with Rinne for the Vezina before Luongo
Luongo is way to streaky to be considered a #1, and price>>>luongo as of now. Seems like boston had much more trouble with him than they did with luongo. I dont even think i'd trade reimer for luongo and his riduculous contract, reimer could very well turn out better than luongo in a couple seasons and he'd be much cheaper.
