Absolutely love Feds. He did really well with Boyle and Prust. Wouldn't mind a two year deal. As long as he gets like 1.0-1.5 I'll be fine with his contract.

The fact that he is looking for two years makes me a little uneasy, but Feds was huge for us this year. No doubt does he deserve another contract and a spot on the team. Hagelin should take notes on how Fedetenko plays.

Feds is Tort's boy. Something tells me he is going to get the two year contract he is aiming for.

Two years lets us resign him for cheaper. For Feds, it's all about job security.

I actually like two years for Feds better, it's stop us from going out and overpaying for a veteran presence next year.

If it's 2 years it better be damn cheap. Really glad we're trying to bring him back.

So let me get this straight....we all have our differences about our prospect pool at forward, but one thing we can agree on is we have a dearth of bottom 6 NHL'ers in the system.

....and we're going to sign Ruslan Fedotenko to a 2 year deal?

Dont hate it, but doesnt make too much sense. The guy was on the scrap heap last year.

Agreed! Very happy about this...he's an excellent forechecker/grinder/2 way forward. He's a top notch bottom 6 guy that won't cost much.

I'm uneasy about a 2 year deal, and also uneasy that there seems to be a difference in the gap between what he wants and what the Rangers are offering.

If it's 2 years for anywhere from $1.25-$1.5 I'd be ok with it as it would be way too easy to deal him at the deadline if necessary...anything more than that and I don't know.

Signing Fedotenko basically eliminates any chance Dale Weise has of making this team....but he was able to see 10 games last year so who knows what will happen.

2 years, low cap hit, would be perfect.

Great news. I would prefer a 1 year deal rather than a 2 year; but if worse comes to worse, I'm sure a team will take him as a rental at the deadline.

lol I would not say absolute stupidity if its a lower cap hit but I can see Feds turning into a Christensen. We may want him off the cap and team in year two.

I like Feds and he has a good chemistry with Boyle and Prust but I would hope one year. To me this blocks Grachev and Hagelin until next yr when Avery is off the books. Guess its not a bad thing to have depth though and the Feds signing proved that last yr

If it's a reasonable price, fine. If we don't want him after year one, trade him.

Happy when I read this morning. Very underrated player. Glad he will be back. Ask Bolts fans about him

This. Something between 1 & max. 1,5 mio $ is a fair price. He did great over the season with Prust & Boyle and even better in the POs.

so who knows what the offseason will bring but if Feds is back do they not run something like

Dubinsky, Richards(i hope) Gaborik
Wolski ,Stepan, Callahan
Avery, Anisimov, Zuccarello
Fedotenko, Boyle, Prust
spare of someone cheap like Newbury or Mitchell
callups Hagelin, Grachev, Weise, Kolarik

Slats loves to give out 2 year contracts. I believe he did the same with Prust. Instead of giving 1 year at like 1.3M he gives them 2 at 1M. Player gets more money and we get a lower cap hit. It's not like we're stuck with him, he can always be waived. 2 yrs is not a big deal. Good signing.

Good. He was an animal in the playoffs and fits our style perfectly. After one year if you dont want him, trade him.

We gave Brashear a two year deal worth 2.8 million when he was older than 35, I don't see why we'd have any issue giving Fedotenko a similar deal at age 32.

I really like Feds, I have no problem with him coming back. I cant imagine he gets much of a raise from last season so he wont be anywhere near expensive. Anyone complaining about two years is just being ridiculous

You have a Bruins avatar. Do you not realize if it weren't for Fedotenko's brand of hockey, the Bruins would not have beat Kesler/Sedins?

Notice the fourth line getting main minutes during game 7?

SIGN FEDS UP. AND WE NEED 2 MORE JUST LIKE HIM.

Really thought Feds was a good fit for NYR last season. I'm not opposed to two, as long as the money is reasonable. They have a boatload of bottom six talent yes, but along with Prust, last year Feds was the best and most consistent when he wasn't hurt.

Feds/Boyle/Prust was one of the better lines a good part of the season.
