Boston won't trade down with only Grachev added -- I don't think the Rangers would move one of their best prospects to move up 6 spots, either.

I thought they were trying to collect them all.

Looks like a pretty rough deal for Flames. Consider that the Flames have incredibly limited prospect depth, no use for Nathan McIvor and likely no spot for an additional tweener in Wolski.

Wolski can be bought out at an incredibly low cap hit. (466k this year andd 666k next year).

Rangers can add a late round pick or mid-tier prospect to sweeten the pot.

So, you're basically insinuating that the Flames would trade their 4th rounder for Nathan MacIver and an extra hit on the cap.

Just take the Flames out of this deal. There is no incentive here whatsoever for them to make a move such as this.

Done.

I originally had Hagman and a 4th for Wolski but removed it.

The Flames and Rangers should just make a minor deal with each other - Hagman for Wolski. Hagman earns a bit less ($3M cap hit), but both only have one year remaining on their contracts and they could each use a move to a new city to jumpstart their careers.

That's what I was thinking previously. I was debating posting it earlier but then changed it around.

to be honest, I dont think Wolski needs to move to ANOTHER TEAM TO RESTART HIS CAREER.

he doesnt need a change of place of play. He needs a change OF HEART.

All-world skills, crappy heart and soul guy.

He has outwelcomed his stay VERY QUICKLY on two teams. One team he played well for.

I rather just buy him out. Save cap room for this summer. If we had to play him next year, it wont be TERRIBLE as he has one year left on his contract and will be done with after the season ends. And I dont see the Rangers winning the Cup or making a LEGIT Cup run next year so carrying this deadweight player wont kill us.

Can't see the Bruins trading down, but if a team was trying to entice them to do so they'd be much better off offering a Dman prospect.

Assuming the Flames can't move Hagman for nothing, they would probably consider swapping him for Wolski. In fact, they'd probably be all that. A second line of Bourque-Jokinen-Wolski has the potential to work out pretty well.
