Just for the Crosby thing?

Heck, you can tell palin and simple from how the goalie reacts that 06 is likely not going to be much better than the rest of the crap EAs been putting out for years.

Don't know how people can stand EA. The goalies react horribly to every shot, opposing teams score on the simplest plays, the controls are hard to work with oh and lately the music has been God-awful.

My god. That is not hockey, plain and simple. The fact that that is a move, is pathetic, has it ever even been done at the NHL level?

Baffles my mind how EA can win fans with cheap arcade touches. Maybe next year I'll be able to Ninja kick flip the puck in from centre ice. God that would be so cool, provided of course that it didn't work too often so as to keep it realistic!

I switched from EA games in '04. The major problem I had with 2K4 was the defense, I found to stop goals, they'd throw 3-4 guys infront of the net and it would always hit someone. I'm not a big fan of any hockey games on PS2, they all seem to be lacking, but at least in EA, when I would have 40+ shots, I'd score some goals. I don't mind having large scores if the flow comes to it, but having good chances and the puck magically stopping on the goal line killed 2K4 for me, so I went to EA for '05. I thought it was decent, but lacking in "extras". I'll try both out this year before I buy. This may give you an idea why people do like EA games. They both have strong and negative points, its really just what you are looking for. I just don't like people considering 2K as a "real" hockey game because its a 2-1 score. If the shots are 68-40, it likely won't be a 2-1 game and nobody puts 2 D infront of the net when the forwards aren't anywhere around there.

68 shots to 41? Play with the sliders, and work on the offensive plays. Honestly the way you play the game and the sliders is huge. You cannot play it like you would play an EA game and expect to win, or even to score for that matter with reasonable sliders. The ESPN games play great, but you have to fiddle with them, IMO EA could possibly play well too, but their sliders didn't even work.

I'll say it again. EA has gotten killed the last 3 years. Reviewers have seen it, the majority of the public has seen it, and EA even saw it with 2005. Hopefully they got the fricken memo and come out with a decent game. I will not be holding my breath however.

I've played with them a little bit, but I am not great at video games, so I usually stick to the lower levels. Even with playing, I still found tons of D infront covering nobody and just hanging around in the crease. This really bothered me while playing.

my problems with EA, bad AI, players on your own team blocking your shots. In the last min of the game, having your fourth line out? I know that
s something you can solve by managing your own lines, but I'm lazy, and don't want to have to think about stuff like that. But the reason I keep going back to ea, is I like the dynasty mode, which is better IMO, than 2k. And it just looks better, 2k is too dark, the indicator around the player is too bold. And I'm not a fan of 2k's bad ai either. The one thing I hope they've changed for EA's version is having the player curl when recieving a pass, instead of comming to a full stop, which destroys the flow of the game.

Personally, I always likes the EA NHL games a lot better than the NHL 2K games. EA did the World Cup tournament, and I also liked the moved, options, commentating, and graphics a lot better with EA.

The goalies in EA have better reactions and animations than the 2k games and that is a fact. You can download the NHL 2006 demo they made it more simulation than ever. This game is by far the best EA hockey game in a decade. If they build on this game for the years to come they'll blow out the 2k series (which is not very realistic too). I don't understand why people say 2k series is more realistic! The goalies are in no way realistic because in real life no goalie makes the same cruddy save 70 % of the time. One timer goals from hell, they skate funny. NHL 2003 was probably the worst game ever, I have never bought a hockey game since Espn's NHL 2k3 which was unimpressive in terms of goals/presentation/ one timer shots. I will be buying 2006 though everyone has an opinion and im sure a lot of people will feel the same as me. Honestly I tried out the 2k series and even routed for it when EA was not going to make games for the dreamcast, but it blows and the only reason i'd think of picking the game up is because it's so cheap. Now that nhl 2006 is the same price (maybe 10 bucks more not sure) 39.99 CDN Im going to buy this game because it's a step in the right direction.

Yeah, but his insistence that I download it, leads me to think he hasn't played it. I could be mistaken though.
