I love the deal. I'm pretty sure he will be moved to the wing on the 2nd/3rd line as he is not a 4th liner.

Good signing,

Some guys here says that he can play wing. Did he ever played has a winger in his career?
I remember that D.Dubé thought that Desharnais has not the tools to be as good as a winger like he is as a center.

I don't know if he can, but I would love him to be a the third line winger next year.

Price, Subban, Pacioretty, Eller, Desharnais, White. I love our young players!

Another great signing by PG, keep it up!

I like this deal very much. It was refreshing to read that article on RDS about him not wanting to play hockey anywhere else, but Montreal. The kid's heart is in this city and it's great to have him back.

That's fine with me, I feel that he is more effective as a center than a winger either way.

We spent two and a half million dollars today on what will prove to be 2/3 of how our PP scores goals next season.

For the people asking about Markov and Gorges signings, I assume they will probably be signed after the salary cap has been announced. I highly doubt they sign Wiz, but if they do they will do it around then as well.

All the big signings in the league will mostly be done once the cap has been set.

I wouldn't say 2/3 but I would say they were both huge bargains. Pacioretty will be on the 1st PP unit and most likely DDH will be on the second. Really liking what PG has done this off season thus far.

Love his work ethic and vision, I could see him working his way onto the 2nd line one day, he makes some excellent passes and never gives up.

PG is impressing me with his savvy signings, gainey take notes.

I know he had some shifts there in the PO and looked good. Not sure if he did in other leagues. He seems to have a high hockey IQ, so I think he can make the transition. Worth a try I think.

It's not like he can't be talking to Markov and Gorges because of these.

Great for DD love him! Great ethic and attitude. A lot of skill as well.
+1 to this, Hopefully Brendan Gallagher is the next to prove me wrong.

Glad to see 'the little train that will' is back for the next couple of years, nice contract for the team and he has, beyond any reasonable doubt, earned it. Hopefully he improves over the next few years and continues to prove he belongs in the NHL.

Great signing, i had him at 750K for 1 year, i got the first year right. I like what Gauthier has been doing so far...until i learned from Tony Marinaro that PG said no to Jagr (2-2,5M for 1 year). I hope he has better plans for the off season cauz Jagr would be the perfect fit for our top 6 (big guy, great hands, good veteran, not expensive) and that would let Kosty be on a trio with DD/Eller. But still, good signings by Gauthier today.

As for Markov, he was at La Ronde yesterday, does that mean he is in town to negociate his contract/be present at the signing press conference? I hope so.

I love it. I already had a huge soft spot for the kid, just the mix of small size but intelligence and determination that makes me respect any player worth their salt.

But during the PO, when, in Boston, he completely negated Chara 1-on-1 during one of the Bruins' PP for a good 45 seconds and almost running away with the puck to the net, he stole my heart. I want the kid. He got injured rushing through 2 freaking oversized Bruins D-men. That deserves more than a bit of respect.

He reminds me a lot of Brad Marchand which I'm not sure is good thing or a bad thing! LOL!
