I asked for you...she said you can't do it during an upgrade call only better or same price range seats. If you want to downgrade you would have to give up your seats and than see whats available after all the upgrades were down. You would also lose your tenure if you did that.

Not sure why anyone would want to "downgrade" to the 400s anyway. They're gone after this season, and then you just have bad upper bowl seats going forward.

Thanks I appreciate it

I wonder if I add seats to my account if I can go into a different price range

My guess is when they get the new upper bowl the 400s will be in higher rows then the 300 seats and they will be in different price ranges. So if you get in the 400s now you will be in a cheaper section for the following years

Yeah, I would agree that they will likely institute a tiered pricing...maybe $75/$65/$55 or something like that for the new upper bowl. So if you are looking to get in the Garden with the cheapest possible seat I guess that approach makes sense. Personally, since I've basically been priced out of the lower bowl I want the best possible new upper bowl seat.

The people who are going in with me on the season tickets this year wanted 400s. They can only afford so much....

The cost of the NHL league wide has really gotten out of hand post lock-out, but that's another discussion for another thread.

The tragedy is that there's a salary cap so all the expenses are basically fixed, but Dolan charges multiples of other teams and just pockets the difference. It's virtually impossible for him to lose money so he doesn't care what anyone thinks of him he is free to run his teams into the ground at will

You can add seats and go into any price range. What I found interesting is that the max is 6 tickets per account and thats what I have. I asked about 2 more seats and they would possibly make an exception but it would have to be like 100 section

I had my upgrage appointment today. I was in section 101 & now am in the new 101. They moved me from row 20 to row 15......good news for the the seats in front of me are $150 each...mine are $100! I guess they felt sorry for a long time season ticket holder( since 1988).

Not defending the dol-boy but to be fair, he was spending FA $$$ before the cap (holik, lindros, jagr, fleury, etc.). The MSG transformation and subsequent repricing of seats is a product of seeing other NY sports maximizing profits through new venues (NYS, Rock, citi field, NMS). The NHL Cap was just an icing on the cake.

Now that MSG is separately traded, the focus and pressure on growing revenue and earnings will only make ticket prices go one way (and that's up).

Just be glad we are not the Toronto Maple Leafs! I am happy with my $59.00 a piece seats, considering they are just about center ice.

What does that even mean, non-premium ticket? Every ticket closer to the ice than the 300s cost over $100 last year. I have to think this $58 figure is fuzzy math. I mean that's the price of a 300 seat. There are more seats closer to the ice than there are in the 400s.

Non-premium ticket means lower bowl and upper bowl, not including the VIP, bench, or suite seats.

If that's the case I don't see how the figures can be right. But whatever.

It's hard to believe the Rangers are not up in the top five.

it could be... i mean all of the purples and the center of the 100's were club seats..

behind the nets in the 100's, all of the 200's are included in that.. the 300's had far more seats than that section and all were under 56 dollars. then the 400's at 37 each for season ticket holders, thats definitely possible

Every 300 seat cost at least $50, right? And every 200 and below cost over $90. Seems hard to think that several thousand 400s that cost 37 a pop (only slightly less than the 300s) could lower the thousands of 90 to 250 seats to an average cost of under $60.

not really. There aren't going to be any endzone upper deck seats next year. We will have the last few rows, of the upper deck which will still be good seats.

I scalped in Toronto last year and bought a $200 ticket (for $100) in the lower bowl that would cost $100 in the new Garden. Of course, that same seats costrs about $70 in Minnesota and $55 in Phoenix.

Seems like 400's are impossible to get from my call. What do you guys think they are going to do with pricing of the upper bowl next season? I can get 300's in the corner but I'm very worried the closer they are, the more they will be next season. I'm currently in 421 which is great for now. But if they are considered "center ice" and therefore the same price next yr as the 1st row of the upper deck, I'm going to freak...
