Yeah I guess I'm supposed to just chalk it up as coincidence that he posts the exact same thing like 30 minutes after DeFoy does.

As if I've never seen these media tools play broken telephone before, heck DeFoy plays broken telephone with himself in order to get people to read his drivel.

But now I'm expected to just assume they had different sources when one of the guys has zero credibility in the first place and these media folks are re-reporting **** all the time? I'm not assuming Jagr is coming here, but I'll believe he isn't going to be a Hab or Red Wing when I see the signing on TSN.ca, not when some scrub whose dieing for somebody to read his article speculates something based on not knowing how to understand English and misrepresents what was said in the first place, that Hammer is a priority and nothing more.

Lebrun never said anything about the Habs being front-runners. He quoted Svoboda who said he had talked to Montreal, never specifying how the talks went.

I'm not against Jagr to Montreal, I'd absolutely love it. But people are grasping at straws here.
I wasn't particularly saying Lebrun said that. I was speaking in general. One guy says we're on the front, and then another not so much. I don't think any journalist makes stuff up.
It's pretty much just a guy hearing from a guy, that heard from another guy, and it could go on and on..
Unless the person they've spoken to is the player, agent or gm (or another close person tied to the mix like a coach..), then I don't think it holds much ground.
Whenever it's one of these guys, then they usually name them. When it's not, they say it's a source.
I don't care much for rumors coming from sources.

ON the Google latest feed its 99% talk about Jagr possibility to go back to Pit after the news this morning :

"The approach came from Jagr's camp, who has also talked to with several teams including the Red Wings, Canadiens and possibly the Rangers. As of 3:30 p.m. on Monday, the Red Wings and Penguins were Jagr's preferred choices.
I cannot confirm the Penguins have interest, only that they did listen to Jagr's camp when approached."

The Red Wings and Penguins are as of now considered his top choices, but sources said a third team is in the mix. That team is not believed to be Montreal.

Jesus Christ, there's so much crap going on around this.
How can people from everywhere in the world come up with new info throughout the day without speaking to anybody that is directly linked to this?

So much crap. It's like everybody is doing an Eklund impression.

I read an article this morning (maybe HIO?? can't remember I read a lot of news at work lol) saying that Pit was defiantly not in the mix, now they're the front runner? Jeeze.

Edit: Yeah it was, Jagrs agent said that they were not among the mix.

True words man. You know what's the word on the street? Jagr will sign with Winnipeg and become their 'franchise star'.

Welcome to the age of Sharing. Most of what we found its nothing more then sharing news from the King Kongs of media and since internet has provided us with freedom of speech then we retweet the article with some spice on it.

The main thing is we'll spend the money on what we really need.

And one thing that we need is a winger for Plekanec and Cammalleri, unless PG believes Kostitsyn is the man for the job or he has his sight on a UFA. I hope by the end of this week, we'll see Jagr sign somewhere. Hopefully habs

Happy about the recent developments and like the Kovalev story two years ago, hoping Jagr signs elsewhere to put this baby to bed!

so basically we had the opportunity to improve our team, and we didn't because management doesn't like Jagr. Jagr, even at his age, would be our best winger.

Let's try and get this back on topic shall we? There's no need to turn against each other, we all root for the same team.

Kareem, I'm surprised you missed the sarcasm in my post...It's not like that picture was tough to understand, especially for a scholar..

So in case it's still not clear, I agreed with Emo and I'm not so sure Jagr will come here.

I think PG would rather pay a little more for Brooks Laich or Eric Cole (if available) than Jagr.

I doubt any team will ink Jagr before July 1st. There isn't a multitude of available names out there but I don't see why any team would take a crack at him before trying to go after other top 6 forwards via open market.

Shocking...its their opinion dummy, and they are in charge here, not you.

I think a lot of people here are just wanting that superstar NAME. Because we all know that we haven't had one on the top line for a very long time. Yes Jagr WAS that forward, but now what is he really? People are basing their opinions off the world championships, where he did look good, but was against inferior competition and playing on an international ice surface. I see a lot of the reasoning here being " Its ****ing Jagr! you have to do it!". But thats not how management works. Hes not a fit here unless we get ANOTHER top 6 forward so jagr can play in and out of the top 6 but play mostly on the pp. Where as the habs probably have their eye on a younger, faster player in ufa. I admit if we got Jagr I wouldn't hate it, but I think this team needs to look at other options on the ufa market. We are not a detroit where its much easier to insulate Jagr. Sorry if im breaking any dreams here but I just don't see it as a good fit in MTL.

This may sound weird, but i honestly believe whether we get Jagr or not is up to Pleks.
If pleks really wants him and he think he can play well with Jagr and tell PG about, im sure PG wud do something
If Pleks doesnt want Jagr or is indifferent then PG doesnt sign Jagr which seems quite likely right now.
