Still praying for Tomas Jurco to be availible with NJ 2nd. Doubt it happens though.

I know this doesn't affect us, but I think the BPA in the draft will fall to #4. Adam Larsson is gonna be a beast, but EDM loves Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Colorado loves Gabriel Landeskog, and Florida loves Jonathan Huberdeau. NJ is gonna get a steal.

THN's projections of players who will be available at Nashville's picks in the top 100

#38 Nick Shore RW
#52 Shane Prince LW
#82 Micheal Paliotta D
#92 Alexander Kuvaev LW

These are projections of talent on a 1-100 chart not who THN expects Nashville to pick.

I'd love to grab two of Jurco, Ambroz, Rask or Prince with those two seconds. My TRUE hope is that Grimaldi's size scares just enough off so that he falls a bit, OR we trade up a bit and take him.

Do you guys think that it'd be worth packaging NJ's pick and our 2nd for a mid 1st rounder?

Personally, I would rather package Ellis will one of the 2nds and move up even further. If, by some miracle, we could trade up to #5/6 and get Sean Courtier, i would be pumped.

I'd rather keep the two seconds. The draft is top heavy through about the first 11 picks, and tails off after that.

Yeah, that's what I heard about it. We know how to draft in the later rounds anyway.

I've decided I would give up Ellis and one of our seconds for GABRIEL LANDESKOG. The guy has Predator and super star written all over him.

My wish list for the draft (not that I think these things will happen.

1. Weber signed before the draft
2. Poile trade Ryan Ellis for either a top ten pick OR a forward prospect of equal value
3. Poile trade for Paul Statsny
4. Poile trade for a scorer or a top center
5. Brian Burke fail at trying to move up in the draft
6. Do whatever it takes to get Landeskog.
7. Any other trade to improve our offense.
8. Sign Ryan Suter

Its a pipe dream, but it is a dream non the less.

You and everybody else. Landeskog has the makings of a Swedish Iginla. He has been getting hype for two or three years now.

Exactly. That is the type of player we need. We don't need Ryan Ellis. I would pretty much give up any prospect not named Josi for Landeskog.

I received the Red Line Report last week. If there is a specific write-up you want me to post, let me know. Just FYI:

#38-Tomas Jurco "Terrifically skilled, but maddeningly up-and-down"
#52-Matt Nieto
#82-Philippe Hudon

If by some miracle Sean Courtier falls, I hope we make a move to get him. He could be a great fit for us.

And if we weren't so stacked on D then Duncan Siemens would be a guy I would love to have, but the last thing I want Poile to do is trade up to the top 15 to draft a D man

EDIT: Bobby Mac's pre-draft rankings came out. Looking around #38, there are some very "Predator's way" people there, like Phillip Danault, Lucas Lessio, and Rickard Rakkell

Any chance of packaging the two 2nds and maybe the third (or mid-prospect) for a mid-round first? Just wondering Poile's general mindset.

If Tyler Biggs actually drops down to 38, that's one heckuva steal!

Red Line's got him ranked 23. I don't think he'll last THAT long.

as I mentioned before, I don't think that's wise. The level of player we could get at 15 doesn't really make up for getting two almost-as-good guys in the second. There's not a huge drop-off from about 20 to 40, IMO. I wouldn't mind trading one of the seconds and a lower pick to try to get higher in the second or in the late first, but that's about the extent of it.

Here are some interesting names that could be around at #38:

Zack Philips - C - "Intelligent 2-way guy who complemented Huberdeau"
Scott Mayfield - D - "Huge, tough and can skate. Head is the question"
Rickard Rakell - RW - "Out of his 185 lbs., about 184.5 is heart and desire"
Adam Clendening - D - "Excellent QB on the power play and has some jam"
Reid Boucher - LW - "Drafts best clutch scorer wants the puck on his stick"

Philips: Intelligent 2-way player is what Poile/Trotz love. But I'd be afraid of the last part there, Angelo Esposito?

Mayfield: Won't draft anyone with "Head is questionable", last one we got was Radulov...

Rakell: Another that is a Preds type, hopefully they realize we have enough of this.

Clendening: Same.

Boucher: Now here is my pick of the names listed. Smaller guy, but the Preds are a much bigger team all around than they have been in the past, so this isn't as much of an issue now. He addresses what has been their biggest need every season.
