Really hate losing him.
Q got a 3 year extension at the start of the 10/11 season

Hmmm, I like that guy. He actually talked Hawks with a friend and I for about two hours at "Mulligan's" a few days after it was known he was headed to Atlanta. His wife/girlfriend (not sure) was nice as hell too.

Jaekel says its a done deal from some sources inside..

also i was gonna post this (which was just said above)

Since the Atlanta staff was let go, does that mean Torchetti can come back as an assistant to replace Haviland??

Jaeckel has some connections locally so I believe this could be legit (Always hard to trust someone affiliated with Eklund of course)

I heard Havailand got the job. Why wouldn't he? Kevin knows him better than anyone in the winnipeg organization for what he can do as a coach.

Maybe they will surprise me.
A polite "hell no" to Hitchcock. He's been notoriously bad with young players/rookies.... not exactly what I want for our team with a bunch of youngsters coming up through the next few years.

Also, Quenneville is already a good defensive-minded coach... not sure Hitchcock would really improve it much.

Besides, like you said, I don't think he'd want to be an assistant.

I think JJ is just making an obvious guess. As soon as we heard they were interested in Havy, I think we all knew he was going to get the job. I would have been shocked if he didn't.
