Wow, Craig Button really gushed over #Habs prospect Jarred Tinordi on TSN just now. Called him a 28-minute a night player. Very high praise
Yeah he was going nuts yesterday on 2Nite about Tinordi. Clearly he's pretty high on him, but I don't think the pick is nearly as bad as people make it out to be.
I said this on the main board, me and a guy at work (bruins fan so deal) were confused at his gushing over Tinordi, couldn't figure it out, we looked him up, he played with and was great friends with Jarreds father

Counterpoint on Tinordi RT @coreypronman: @ArponBasu FWIW, every scout I talked to this year said the opposite based on his play in the OHL
Craig Button is a clown, so take it for what it's worth.
Actually, he's more of an ass-clown.
he did have an NHL job just saying,
Tinordi is fine were he was picked no where else, but someone on the main board who was a London knights season ticket holder said Tinordi was a huge difference maker at the end of the season but at the start he was garbage
Was surprised to see Tinordi go that high in his re-draft. After everything I read here, I thought he would drop.
Did they talked about LL?
It was a 2010 re-draft.
As for Tinordi, he does have physique to be a huge player for us. He's already got the wheels to play in the league, he already has the required aggression to use his body... That being said he still needs to work on some things, mostly things related to puck movement and decision making. He's a project, but one I think will surely make the NHL. Whether he ends up being a bottom-pairing guy who hurts you or if he can put it all together and be Subban's bodyguard/first pairing partner. Time will tell.

Just 2 cents
I managed to catch a few games towards the end of the year and he was indeed playing a lot better. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he has a pretty big year this year, who knows where it could go from there. Next season we will have Gill and Spacek likely retiring and I'm sure the Habs would love to have Tinordi's big body and aggression to replace Gill. Not saying it's going to happen by any stretch and I don't think they'll rush him, but if the stars align just right.. You never know.

Yeah, the London fan said he saw every home game and some away games and at the start of the year he reacted like many around here that he couldn't understand why he went so high. End of the season he was a gamechanger and he'd stand people up at the line at least once a game and change the momentum with his play, hopefully he becomes a number 2 who can cover for subban and clear prices crease

Yes, and Mike Millbury had an NHL job. HAD.
I didn't even watch the Canadian prospect show, just what he said in That's Hockey made me want to shut it off.
There's also a thread on the main boards, pretty much everyone is bashing the guy for being a moron.
He [the poster] never said Tinordi was a huge difference maker. He said he made some hits that sometimes changed the momentum of the game, and that he was a good Dman at the end of the year. Or maybe he actually said that, I'd have to go check back.

Button did a "do over" for the 2009 NHL draft. Putting Duchene ahead of Tavares and Hedman, he also drops Kadri 5 spots and moves Tinordi up 14!
This is what he says about Tinordi:
Quote:
"When you look at Tinordi, he's much like his dad. He's raw, so it will take him a little bit of time to really realize that full potential. [He needs to] understand what a presence he can be in a game, not just with his size, but with his physical play with his offensive play, with his ability to shut other teams best players down," Button stated. "I think he's the type of guy when you start looking ahead, he's a 25-28 minute-a-game player in all situations."
Check out what he says.
Great to see the hype is there on Tinordi from the experts, and not false hope as many skeptics here would think!
