Must be a slow news day, the media are setting up the Luongo/Thomas Vezina "showdown". Another chance to kick sand in Luongo's face. It was pretty obvious before the playoffs even started who was going to win the Vezina. The more he gets hacked on the more I want to keep him and have him make them eat their words.

Yep the more hate this guy gets the more I want to see him succeed. Next season would be the best season ever if Luongo wins the Vezina, Hart, Conn Smythe, and cup.

Even in games that Luongo kept us in we weren't scoring.

In the Canucks 3 victories, we scored a whopping 5 goals.

That may start the "Canadian riot".

Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto would erupt. Same with Chicago, Boston and New Jersey (for some odd reason)

Are people still having this discussion? It's been going on for days with the same arguments. One side says it's Luongo's fault because he couldn't keep any of the losses close to give his team a chance of a comeback and the other side says it doesn't matter how many goals Luongo gave up because the offense was unable to give Luongo any goal support.

You're both right.

You'd think they would have been done with him after the Final. They got what they wanted, he was publicly ridiculed, humiliated, shamed, etc. Probably time for them to find a new target.

but seriously, how sad would it be if luongo somehow won the vezina tomorrow night? having to give that acceptance speech would probably do more harm than good.
