I heard that "Ask A Pink Hat" today. Love that segment.
I must say that one of the sights I like most at fenway are the "pink hats" in the bleachers on a warm summer night. Great atmosphere.
can someone please convince me to not upgrade to a middle section low row balcony tomorrow?
thanks
I feel that the temptation will be great, but I've read so many mixed reviews regarding obstructions and "leaners"
Are you thinking of re-sale or having better seats? You seem to love your seats. Tough call.
I do remember there being some lower rows last year, but they were 3 seaters. Never know.
Goodluck.
I am only going to be there for a short time tomorrow. Hoping to see something when I walk in. If not, I am outta there.

As posted above your first question to answer is do you want better re-sale potential or a better view of the game. For re-sale you want a middle sections 315-317, 330, 301, 302.
If re-sale is not your prime concern then as I posted to you before I am an anti-leaner guy. I'd rather be on the corner and have fewer leaner issues than the middle sections have. Tough call, Looch and others love the middle for view as well as re-sale. Me, I would be a corner guy in the balcony.
Either way the generic select-a-seat chart shows only 5 highlighted areas in the middle sections so more than likely you will not have to make a decision unless you hit it lucky that someone else vacates their middle seats.
I have a 4pm time slot. But going as a proxy for a friend with a 1:30 time slot. I'll be grabbing some lunch before going in. Anyone that has the same slot and wants to grab a beer before, let me know...
No pairs in the 2X end. However there were pairs in 324, 328 & 330 between Rows 2-7. There were some others but this is all I recall. If I was allowed to add seats it would have been a no brainer.
I saw a pair in 310, 308, 315, and 303. Also had 4 together in 313 Row 14.
I wanted to switch my seats but there was no one around to help anyone. I saw at least 4 people sitting in these seats but no rep was around to pull off the tags.

Don't feel bad, I'm still waiting for an email for when my time slot was.
There were at least a few options of $69 loges available. A fiend got a group of 6 $69 seats together in loge 18. Another friend moved to a open pair in 315 row 15.
Going back at 4 to see if anything else opens up...will report back.
Just got back from our 1:30 time slot. We didn't think we were going to move because we liked our middle of the row seats in 311 row 8 but we were able to talk to one of the girls coming up to tag seats and she had 311 row 7. Normally I wouldn't be all that psyched about moving up one row but I've noticed the difference between row 7 and row 8 is huge considering the row size.
We saw pairs in 310 row 8 on aisle, 305 row 11 aisle, four in 313 row 12 or 13, a few pairs in low rows where they shoot only once (324 and 325), a pair in 301 row 8, a pair in 327 row 3 and a few more scattered pairs and singles. Nothing in balcony row 1 anywhere and surprisingly not many loge at all. But there are definitely some good cheap seats there that people before us must have moved from. Good luck to all of you going tonight!

There were a few. Despite any reports here things will change during the day so you just have to go and get lucky. I saw a pair in 301 Row 6 get tagged and then scooped up while I was there so it is all luck and timing. I still think it is more fair to allow upgrades based on seniority instead of the select-a-seat free for all that often depends on luck and timing.

I was there at 1:30. There was a 3 pack in the front row of 323...still here right now...and that 3 pack is still there. They are the only row 1 balconies I've seen all day though. Slim pickings. They just taged a pair in 317 row 10 on the aisle of 316...good value imo.
We are seats 12 and 13 in row 7 next year. Will be a lot easier to get out in between periods next year. And considering we just found out we'll be expecting our first child in about 8 months I'm assuming my wife being able to get to the bathroom easier will come in handy What seats in row 6 are you?
I scored on row 2 section 320... Walked up to the counter to check out and it dawned on "the netting"... I got cold feet and gave them back.. Then I went back up for a second look and realized the seats were directly at the bottom of he stairs. I don't want drunks falling, spilling, and hovering around the wife and I. And it was the family section.
Defensive end, family section, bottom of steps, looking through the netting... And finally, listening to my wife all season saying "why'd you switch... I liked it better over there... I can't stand the people barreling down the stairs"
Oh well... I like my section, my perfectly unobstructed view, and he people around me.

If it ain't broken don't fix it...
"Leaner Guy" here. Just wanted to ease your angst to tell you that you chose wisely. I sat in 320 row 2 a couple of years ago so here is my first hand thoughts.
1. Protective netting was not a problem.
2. Drunks barreling down the stairs. I never saw that but I don't go to all 40 games so it could have happened.
3. Here is the big one - Row 1 leaners blocked the goal net. Ugh, have I mentioned that I HATE leaners.
I got a three seater in 302 row 10.
Had a pair and a single that I traded in.
Had a an issue with my tickets being on 2 differant accounts and had to run down stairs and get it taken care of. I was told the tags would be held for me. They werent. Luckily I got to a rep before a guy who was standing in the seats. The rep knew the situation so I got the seats.
I was there and out in 20 minutes.
