An addon in Firefox or Chrome called Download helper, then I use Adobe After Effects for video editing. The Video version of Photoshop.

I don't know what is Youtube downloader, but with Download helper, you can choose between all different .mp4 files from a youtube video. 320p, 480p, 720p, 1080p. It also works on every web sites like habs tv http://video.canadiens.nhl.com/videocenter/console

The whole "take constructive criticism" thing does apply here.

You want to know what else applies though in this situation? "If you don't have anything nice to say don't say it".

The reason I say that is that it isn't constructive when you're basically telling the person "you didn't do it my way so it sucked"

That isn't constructive, that's just "nanny nanny poo poo I know how to make a better video".

As if learning to use virtualdub and/or some scrub movie maker software makes you some kind of god at making videos

Anyways OP nice job on the video. I personally am not a fan of the music either but I understand music is pretty tough to please everyone with.

The video is nice but I just can't watch a video with that quality!!

If you could improve the video quality then it would be awesome

The main problem I see with most fan made videos is the framerate. Now I know this can't be fixed most of the time because the source videos are of poor quality already but in some cases the lack of fluidity can completely ruin a video that had good potential.

I guess my advice to avoid this would simply not to use poor quality footage

I respect people who take the time to make compilations, though. This takes a lot of time and effort

Here's how I get clips to look decent. I use videos that NHLVideo uploads, and I save them on KeepVid.com as mp4's. MP4's are the best file format going these days. I then render my videos as 720p in AVS Video Editor, and apply my visual stuff in After Effects.

On the off-chance I can only get a clip in 4:3 aspect ratio, I'll make it's scale like 125% in After Effects, I am very picky that the video fills the entire Youtube video screen, throughout the entire clip.

And I didn't mean to come in with the "oh you didn't do it MY way attitude, therefore it sucks".

I came in with the attitude of, I've seen so many of these clips that they almost frustrate me now. I don't mean to sound so harsh, I just really want the Habs to have a kick-ass Youtube guy, especially when the Leafs have like 5.
