You'd figure Thomas would be a good choice since the big feature this year is related to goalies.

I'm okay with this. I like Stamkos and St Louis. If it were one of the Vancouver Crybabies, er I mean Canucks, I'd be a little upset, but Tampa has a good team that seems a lot more likeable after the Vancouver series than they did during the Tampa series. Besides, I'm not likely to buy the game anyways unless they have a PC version I can run on my 3 year old desktop.

I tend to agree with you, because Stammer is a pretty well liked guy, but at the same time I agree with some people on the main boards who said rightfully so that this might be Thomas' last chance to get on a cover. He's not going to have another year as good as this past one, winning all 3 and setting records, and besides - EA Sports were actually focusing on goalie improvements this year, what other motivation do they need?

Thomas would have been a great choice. But Stamkos is more marketable in my opinion. This game seems like it will be great.

OK, I'm over Thomas not getting the cover. I understand they make these deals months in advance, no big deal.

Having said that, wouldn't it be cool if they do a Stanley Cup champs version of they game. Last season they had the Sedin Sisters on the cover for the Swedish version of the game. They have also done other region specific games. Why not give Timmy a cover for New England or a special copy for Bruins fans to order with extra Bruins stuff? Next year, if the Bruins don't win again, another team can have a special edition made for their fans to order.

That might be a bit too radical of an idea, but I have another suggestion that shouldn't be too hard to impliment. How about we get Thomas' mask and face right this time?! In the new screen shots for the game, Thomas still has that generic mask he's had for years. How about you update that for a two time Vezina winner, Conn Smythe winner and Stanley Cup Champion. Is that too much to ask?

Not surprising. It's never gonna be a goalie, and the Bruins' lack of top-end "name" forwards makes this an obvious choice.

Stamkos is more marketable, it's nothing against thomas who had an amazing year. They just rarely put goalies.

Also, for kicks, EA's office is located in vancouver. Speculate! jk

Solid choice. Marketable player. Should be able to help sell copies.

Also, Toews got the cover when the Hawks won (regardless of the fact that it was Kane the year before), so why don't the Bruins get it too?

I know it was a long shot but deep down I was hoping for Mark Recchi. He's not the player he once was but at 43 years old wasn't exactly too shabby. Just the fact that he's had arguably a hall of fame career coupled with the fact he won the Stanley Cup in his final year made him a good candidate for me.. Oh well..I guess Stamkos is obviously a much more recognizable name and will attract more interest...As long as it's not Crosby I won't complain

I dunno...I don't hate Stamkos, but he really struggled in the 2nd half of the season. It just seems strange to me for them to pick a guy who kinda finished his season with a thud rather than a bang.
Oh and those jerseys...TML anyone. Yuck.

Although I don't hate the Stamkos choice I was really pulling for a Bruins cover. Thomas would have been nice because of his amazing season and limited window of time to be on the cover while Stamkos' is much longer.

I have to say that for the first time in years I barely played NHL 11. Taking out the custom rosters feature from the PS3 version was a killer for me. I loved being able to download rosters that people had perfected rather than the crappy EA roster updates. If they're going to not let us download our own rosters the least they could do is update some player ratings throughout the year. Sucked having Seguin's speed rating be in the low 70's for example.
