I'm going assume that the North American TV market is not the primary concern for the games in Europe.

Having said that, as I'm sure many other non-North American posters can attest to, it's not that hard to get up at 4am for a few games of hockey, even if you do have commitments during the day.

you go from 4 of 8 to 7 of 10? Really, the HAVE to win 7 of 10? Think you are asking for a little much.

October 8th and 9th. Saturday and Sunday. If you are Jewish, Yom Kippur is October 8th.

We know almost certainly that the Flyers will host the New York Rangers in the Winter Classic at Philadelphia's Citizens Bank Park, the home of baseball's Phillies, on Monday, January 2, 2012. There are reports that the game will be played at night, as apparently the NHL enjoyed the effect the evening game (albeit unplanned) had on television in Pittsburgh last season.

Madison Square Garden is undergoing renovations, and as a result, the Rangers are going to have a lengthy trip ahead of them to start the regular season. They are one of four teams heading to Europe to kick off the season, and they'll play the Los Angeles Kings to start their season on October 7 at Stockholm's Globe Arena.

After a second game in Stockholm against the Anaheim Ducks on the 8th, the Rangers return to North America for a series of games in Western Canada. Talk about travel. Their first game back at MSG? October 27 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Yikes.

I believe the time difference is either 6 or 7 hours. So if the game starts at 7 in Sweden, it's on at either Noon or 1. We'll be fine, don't worry. Our time is behind them, not the other way around.

EDIT: I meant to quote the other guy

That March schedule instantly jumped out at me. That's going to make or break the Rangers' season.

That's great. That's usually when we get hot anyway to squeak into the playoffs.

I think that 15-game December is what's going to make-or-break this season. That+WC+24/7. Already feels like that March is going to be our time to make up for lost ground.

Interesting schedule, we get our road west coast road trip out of the way early and have a 7 game homestand in March. Isn't it odd how we only play Winnipeg twice, both times away? They're still technically in the Southeast for this season, and other SE teams we play 4 times.

Ok yea, there we go, it was definitely changed a minute after I was viewing it. it said "NHL (Winnipeg)" and I was just searching the page for Winnipeg with 2 results, now it says "NHL"
