Adam fine. Or the first alone with a lesser prospect. Not both in the same deal Regier.

Value-wise it's not bad...but it just creates such a massive hole for us (especially since we were already ridiculously weak at center to begin with from the NHL straight through to juniors) that I'd really, really hope we didn't trade Adam. I just don't think we can afford to get even weaker at that position.

Sounds like this might not be resolved anytime soon

If we throw in Stajan, will it make you feel better?

Seriously though, can we throw in Stajan?

If we deal Adam, we literally have no centers in the pipeline.
Welcome to the club buddy.

But at least Ottawa still has Giggles and 2 firsts.

Anyways that's a pretty high price for Regehr, why not just wait till July to see if you could grab a dman like Erhoff or Hannan for free, or even Ericsson who I think are better players than Regehr the past few years. Sure you have to overpay a bit but at least you won't sacrifice the future.

I hate to be an arse, but if you were being dealt from Calgary, would you waive your NTC for Buffalo? Or would you wait for the next scenario to come around with another team in another city?

Someone call me crazy, but given our massive need at center if it was Kassian instead of Adam (obviously keeping our #1 pick, maybe they take Morrisonn as well) I'd be OK with it (depending on what the whole deal looked like of course).

I really do not see why Regehr would accept.

no thanks. Id rather trade Adam. He's not going to be a center in the NHL anyways

Buffalo is much closer to the cup and building the best facilities in the league.

I would suspect Boyes is coming back the other way. Unless the deal is expanded, I just don't see much of equal value there.

Wait why wouldn't he accept? Better chance at the playoffs and an owner who will spend money. Also, one of the best US hockey markets.

...that has more to do with the centers that the Flames were playing against the twins than Regehr's play.

Exactly.

Buffalo would be smarter to just sign a similar player in Free agency like Eric Brewer or Ed Jovanovski instead of trading away 2 valueble assets.

It depends on if you want to win, I suppose. Buffalo was the #1 team in the East over the seoncd half of last year

Sedins had a combined 2 goals and 3 assists against the Bruins in playoffs. Nothing special as well.

Maybe he and his family are firmly rooted in Calgary and he much rather just stay there

I don't get something...

Some Sabres fans would be pissed to trade a good prospect and a mid 1st for a proven top pairing defenseman in his prime?

Regehr is the most important missing piece for the Sabres IMO. It would make a lot of sense.
