Whale sign C Jonathan Audy-Marchessault
One year deal. Two-way.
20 yo forward who played for the Quebec Remparts. He got 40 goals and 55 asists in 68 games this season. He finished first in playoffs scoring with 11 goals and 22 assists in 18 games. He is 7 days older than Bourque and in 2 years with Quebec, Marchessault has been better. He was a 12th round pick in the QMJHL.

A little undersized at 5-9 175lbs... but definitely worth taking a flyer on. The plus side is that at a small frame, it's not like he was physically dominating the Q.

He is an undrafted UFA signing. At least I know he was a UFA signing. I don't think he was ever drafted.

Anyone know if he has top-6 potential? Those are really impressive #'s and I'd love to see what he can do. I wish it wasn't a one year deal...

He says in the article Rangers offered him 2 years but he said he could prove himself and sign a better contract next year.
