Round 1: Pick #15 (J.T. Miller, F)

Since it's now draft day, I think we should do a GDT-style page for each selection to be discussed individually. Please do NOT vote in the poll until the Rangers actually make their selection.

I personally will be happy with any player who is high-risk, high-reward. I don't want to go safe to make sure that we "at least get an NHL player out of the draft." I don't care if we get another Dale Weise. Swing for the fences. We have plenty of second and third liners. We need scorers.

I am sure Gordie knows better than I do who is the best prospect, I just hope that the team philosophy going into the draft is to go for a homerun who might be a hit or a miss instead of going for a nice (baseball) single.

Usually I know a decent amount about the prospects heading into the draft but this year I know absolutely nothing. Sounds like the guy you'd be describing would be someone like Armia right?

I'm so pissed that I'm going to be flying from NC to NY tomorrow at 7. Blah. Won't even be able to check hf to find out who we draft and if we make any deals. GOD DAMNIT.

I don't think Armia will fall -- I'd be doing backflips if the Rangers selected him, though.

I expect one of Scheifele, McNeill, Biggs, Brodin, Miller, or maybe even Khockhlachev or Namestnikov.

Pretty much this. I'd be happy with Scheifele though.

Considering how much success Gordie has had, I wouldn't mind if he went off the board and chose someone nobody expects.

LOL if you think Christensen or Gilroy could get a second round pick in return.

Not even Gilroy, but for Gilroy's rights.

We're talking about Glen Sather, the man who traded Scott Gomez for Ryan McDonagh. Anything is possible.

I don't even think Chris Angel could pull of that magic trick.

Sather is a Jedi, how dare you doubt his abilities. He can fetch whatever he wants. He can get top of the line prospects for virtually nothing.

Christensen and Girloy will be gone. I promise you.

Of course Christensen and Gilroy will be gone.

There is not a doubt in my mind that will happen.

But to believe that Christensen or Gilroy's rights could fetch a 2nd round pick is beyond hilarious.

I never implied where this second would be. How do you know I'm not referring to the 60th pick?

It doesn't matter their value still isn't of any pick in the 2nd round.

My guess is the best you can get for Christensen is a 4th round pick, and that's the absolute best. Gilroy's rights are worth next to nothing.

That's what you think for now, but Sather will surprise you. Furthermore, I never explained the full extent of the trade, I never fully stated it would just be those two assets. See, you've found yourself in a rabbit hole, violently spinning around until you reach the bottom.

Just trade up and nab whoever seems to be falling. Murphy or Zibanejad would be great. If Strome magically falls out of the top 8, we have to move up.

If we stay at 15 I want from most to least
Scheifele
Bartschi
McNeil

If we trade down, Jenner or Jurco.

Thank you for mentioning Bartschi, Goose, I forgot about him.

He'd actually be #1 on my list over McNeill, Scheifele, and Miller. He's been compared to Niederitter -- please and thank you.
