Ottawa interested in Gaborik

http://www.senatorsextra.com/main/ga...about-gaborik/

Is there any deal that would work for both sides?

Is the right link. No idea about credibility.

No. I'd take him for free, but not interested in giving up anything substantial.

Sens have enough injury prone players.

Seems like the two teams would be a very poor fit as trading partners. Both are teeming with talent on the blue line, and are in need of scoring help. Why would the Rangers trade their most potent goal scorer to a team that couldn't at least provide us with a blue chip offensive prospect in return?

Unless the 6th overall pick is involved, I have a hard time seeing this happening.

gaborik is the last thing ottawa needs right now. They need more young talent

I don't see any way it could work. Rangers can't afford to give up Gaborik without a good winger coming back. Michalek doesn't cut it. And in any deal, I'm sure the Rangers would ask for Rundblad.

Trading Gaborik before trying to sign Richards could impact our ability to sign him. Trading him afterwards might just piss Richards off.

I agree with them making poor trading partners.

Stranger things have happened in the past 24 hours though..

yah ottawa is a rebuilding club with a 2-3 year window of average/meager play while stockpiling top draft picks and prospects.

unless murray has an aneursym on his way to st.paul no way he should trade for maid marian.

Rangers are rumored to be looking to sign Richards so I doubt they'll be serious about this seeing how Richards could be a pivot point for Gaborik to get his scoring touch again.

If it is true ..... Condra + Butler to New York ???

This, unless maybe there is a bigger deal added on both sides including Ottawa's 1st?

They almost made a deal for him in 2008-09 season, the deal looked like this

Spezza

for

Gaborik
Cuma

Minnesota didn't want to do it because they didn't want to trade their first rounder and thought it was overpayment for Jason Spezza, also didn't need a number one centre.

Hmmm i guess a glass vase is going to be the difference maker in the trade.

Oh, what do you know, you'd take a star winger for free, how nice of you. Sounds like a good deal to me!

That would be weird. The Rangers would want Spezza in return is my guess but then it's weird for both teams to be swapping players that would play better with each other

Although I do not possess any inside knowledge of what Bryan Murray would do I however find it very improbable that he would trade away young talent during a re-build to acquire an injury prone winger. IMO

It's like that "Gift of the Magi" story... That was the Christmas story where the wife sells her long hair to buy her husband a chain for his pocketwatch, while the husband sold the pocketwatch to buy his wife the expensive comb and jewelry for her hair.

Gabby, Dubi and McD for Spezza, Michalek and Rundblad.

Natrually given that Spezza wants out of Ott ot something, if not, I don't understand why Ott would deal him...

Wolski-Spezza-Zuccarello
Grachev-Anisimov-Callahan
Michalek-Stepan-Fedetenko
Avery-Boyle-Prust
Staal-Rundblad
MDZ-Sauer
Erixon-Girardi

And plenty of capspace or the Rangers
