Bobrovsky can't be sent down to AHL

Read this on Yahoo:

"Sergei Bobrovskyís immediate future appears uncertain at best now that the Flyers have made good on their promise to pursue a proven, top-notch goaltender. Ideally, the Flyers would allow Bobrovsky to develop in the minors. But because he played in 60 games as a rookie (54 in the regular season and six in the playoffs) Bobrovsky can now be claimed on recall waivers if the Flyers elect to send him to the Phantoms."

I thought you could be immune from waivers during the off season though? Oh well, a bright spot to this is he will get to spend more time around Bryzzy, a fellow russian.

58/24 split would be nice between them.

I seriously doubt that Bob will be a flyer next year. Which certainly pisses me off.

Seems like he might play for Phoenix, Florida or Colorado next year.

I say, trade Bob for a good return in draft picks or prospects.

Use the cap space for a veteran checking 3rd line player!

I love bob and i want to see him playing more than in this franchise.

I know we have Anderson, but I'd do that as a Sens fan, even if I'm concerned about the fact that he was too rattled to play in the playoffs...

Keep Bobrovsky, He will thrive as a back up trade him at the draft next year, he`ll be worth way more, look at Scnieder in vancouver

He wasnt really rattled, Lavi didnt want to play him. He thought the good ol' Boucher and Leighton would get us back to the cup...lol

why not keep him in the minors all year? we could call up backlund or that other guy we just signed if there was an injury situation.

Because there's no way, at all, he'll pass waivers without getting claimed.

I'd rather have Bob play on more season as the backup. We shouldn't be too close against the cap with all the trades this year.

Maybe Bob can land us a first next year, after topping his strong rookie season...who knows?

what? Bob said he wasnt "mentally ready" after he was pulled. Lavi had no choice but to look elsewhere

What happens if Bryzzy gets injured and it's clear our back-up can't handle consecutive starts?

What happens in a year or two when they want Bobrovsky to be the back-up and they try to recall him?
