NHL Draft, Day 2

We'll re-open this in the morning and run it like a GDT for Day 1.

I hope the Sabres have a pick to talk about today!

I also wonder if the hold cup on the Regehr deal will affect Regier's approach to wheeling and dealing today if things drag out.

I think Regher waives his NMC around 1pm and it doesnt involve the 16th pick. We are gonna trade that pick to move up or go after a Center. I dont see us staying at 16. Just a gut feeling no reason other then that.

I'd love it if the Sabres were able to package a young player + 16 to move up and get a guy like Strome.

It will be interesting to see if they can pull something like that off.

I'll say it's been a refreshing short amount of time under new ownership.

Franchise renovation? In process, check.
Deadline deals? without shipping out salary, check.
Early RFA signings? Check.
Early Prospect signings? Check.

Dabbling in pre-draft trade deadline day? Check.

I'm sure Darcy's pissed that he's not playing golf all summer with his kids like the last few summers, but it sure is nice to see and hear about all the activity so far.

I dont see them standing pat at 16, either. Up, down or out of the first round completely, I see them moving.

I'd like to see Buffalo go after that pick that Philly just acquired (#8 overall), then maybe bundle both picks into a Top 5 selection for Strome or Couturier.

Friday night makes it tough. Looks like I'll probably be out drinking with friends instead of following the draft. Messed up priorities, I know.

Hah yeah its the time in our lives where in order to watch a sports draft we have to invite our friends with their significant others over in order for the women to be able to keep themselves occupied while the men watch the draft

I've got a soccer coaches game tonight from 6 to 9........

Firing up the RoostCast with Bakes right now to get ready, though!

Some of you disappoint me. I put tonight and tomorrow into my wife's business planner 6 or 7 weeks ago. She texted me this morning asking for more specifics on timeline... but she's aware of what it means. Granted, there was the one year when I was wandering around Darien Lake with the kids, posting from my mobile....

This weekend is rough for me with conflicts.

Tonight is the coaches' game.

Tomorrow and Sunday is the Hot Dog Cup house soccer tournament that both my boys are playing in.

Then I'll miss US-Mexico because I'll be hawking beer at the Tim McGraw at Darien Lake as a youth hockey fundraiser.

I'll be posting from my iPod at work. Hopefully those who can read are watching the draft.

I'm really hoping it's dead tonight.

Just to be a jerk, I should come in with my laptop and headphone rig.

On second thought, there is no beer service at your site, whereas my home has a fridge soon to be filled with it.

The Kassian draft was that way for me. Darien Lake, family party, and some on-call work shenanigans if I recall correctly.

Can't be any worse than the guy that crates his PC in, tower, monitor and all.

There is a Red Robin across the parking lot Perhaps a pre-order is in order.

Just gonna nip out for a couple of beers and then head back here for this.

Hopefully the NHL.com stream is up and running by then.
