Exactly, take your pick, & if you don't move one we're not adding anything to the top 6, which is the teams biggest need.

first of all i dont believe it was dorion that said this, second i stated it in the draft thread that this is the scenerio
1 through 5 would have these players- larsson, n-h, lando, hubs, and strome

strome is the guy they want, dont like couts and will take mika z before him

To get anything of value in return you'd have to trade one of the big 4 Dmen, so your statement really only applies if you believe Larsson is better than one of the other three and you would be keeping Larsson. Otherwise, you'd be trading "BPA" for a need (young top 6 forward)

That has nothing to do with my comment. O.k. then, the concensus logic, if draft goes: RNH,Larsson,Landeskog, then the sens scouts really don't want, pick 2 Cout./Hub/Strome/Z, I don't buy it. I could see them being dissapointed with one of them but not 2. If 'scenerio we don't like' is a valid comment, then there's more to it, IMHO. That's why I think Larsson or Landeskog are lower (@6) on the sens list & they're hoping/expecting to get one of the players who are ranked higher on their list.

If 'scenerio we don't like' is a valid comment' That's my opinion, deal with it.

I agree, at one point in december he was close to the number 1 prospect

Hockey Canada must of missed his attitude and work ethic issues to select him as the only underager for the World Juniors....

Dorion: One Scenario we don't like... what is it?

... Lou bends the league over one more time and convinces Bettman that Ottawa started an the arms race that forced him to sign Kovalchuk by signing Kovalev. Bettman agrees and takes away the 6th Overall.

Of who they think might be there at 6, or period?

Have they given up on trading up?

The likelihood that any draft pick will even crack the Bingo roster right out is slim. The real issue is your username; you need a new one.

If they like Strome that much, I'm all for it.

I dunno if z is actually far away. I've seen him play, best motor in draft. Lot of the stuff Lando gets props for z may be better.

I'd guess that the omissions of RNH and Larsson mean that they're a clear #1-2 on the Sens draft list and/or they've talked to enough teams to know that they won't drop very far at all.

They could know those two aren't dropping and not even have them
In their own top 2....that scenario may make it even more likely not to interview. Don't even care to trade up for them and know they going early

It would explain the brief interview with Nugent-Hopkins.

I believe it was Tim Murray who said this, and he also noted "Personally, there is one scenario I wouldn't be that happy with, but I see it as very unlikely".

The fact he said "Personally" might mean that's how he feels, but a few our scouts or Dorion might be quite pleased.

Either way, I think Z-Bad and either Huberdeau or Couturier are not in our top 5, and if we had to pick between the guys on our list that are 6 and 7, he would be disappointed.

The fact they think it is extremely unlikely leads me to believe it might be Huberdeau. After all, a ton of mocks have Couturier and Z-Bad as a choice for us, so I don't see why Murray would see that as so unlikely. The bigger surprise would be Huberdeau falling to us, which is probably why Murray saw it as such a remote possibility.

Picking at 6...we would have to be pretty unlucky that the highest ranked guy on our list left on the board is the 6th one.

It's not like we're going to get screwed on a deal and a forward who comes back should be at the same level of the D-man going out and therefore a large part of our plans going forth. Just because you trade a prospect doesn't mean you don't like him and are going to "give up on" him.

I could see us trading back to 8 or 9 to get the 6th player on out list, zibanejad.
