Stuart Percy article includes mention that he interviewed with the Caps today (Thursday). For my money he was the best defenseman at the Memorial Cup.

My favorites are Mcneil J.T. Miller, Scheifele and Brodin for when we look back years from now... all of which won't be where were selecting sadly. For our pick I just don't want a ******* Russian just a hard working grinding kid. My prediction? Mcphee trades down for a second in this years draft and one in next year as well and takes that one little Russian ****er

This year's draft is a hit or miss after #10. Who cares after that. Weak, Weak draft. flyers will try to move to #3 by trading Versteeg and the #8 for florida, what for this.

Just participated in a mock draft for NHL Hot Stove, filling in for OFB. Picked Ty Rattie at 26. Not sure when the draft is going to be up on their site.

Let's say it all together now, Best Player Available.

Sadly, that will likely be a Russian, someone with concussion questions, or a soft defenseman.

Neat. Could see that happening given his skill and the league he plays in. Reminds me a bit of Setoguchi.

Yeah, I'm sure he's real plugged into the scouting staff's thinking.

Did Ross Mahoney give another appearance on the most recent Caps Report podcast?

Just Woodlief. He usually does the post-draft rounds IIRC.

Thanks. They usually try to get Woodlief before the draft for that outside (and decidedly outside-the-box) perspective, but also Mahoney, if they can do so. Interesting. Probably doesn't mean anything.

(I guess kind of a plug, though it's not my site, nor do I have any association with it.)

The mock draft at NHL Hot Stove I participated in is here:

I apologize for my formatting beforehand.

No Saad or Miller in the 1st round of that mock draft? Maybe it is time to pick up a 2nd round pick...
e; No Klefbom!?! How does that happen? No way I pick Rattie (or anyone else likely to be even close to available at 26) over Klefbom if he fell that far. How he managed to fall out of the 1st in that mock is beyond me.

I'll admit I thought his name was a joke when I first saw it written on here.

IE someone saying we're going to draft "some name Russian"

edit: And I'm with you Langway. I want Kucherov over the other two. My "Sarge for a pick in the 30s" is my blind hope.

When in doubt, give the Caps the Russian, I guess. And make sure to work in the Hunter angle.

DRAFT NIKITA! If only for the name. Think of all the creative metaphors announcers could come up with.
