Of the big 8, Couturier, Huberdeau, RNH, Larsson, Landeskog have no chance of falling out of the top 10.

Strome, Hamilton, Murphy, might. But unlikely

If Murphy is there at 15, do we take him?

We have no other picks until the later rounds. If no top players fall and our guy(s) are safe, do we continually trade down to acquire some more value?

This is what i'd do... If the rangers have two guys that they want, say McNeil and Biggs, and can't decide between, continually trade down, 1 spot at a time until one of them has been taken. Then select the other. I'm no gm but it seems like reasonable asset management.

great question: Armia & Saad may be gone by 15 RT @airjan23: @JimCerny @NYRNation is he a better option than Armia, Jenner, Saad or Puempel?

I could see Armia going to Dallas and Saad going to Calgary.

It takes 2 teams to trade, and in a situation like that, I don't think it likely that you'll find multiple teams looking to move up 1 spot after another.

Great for us, if so.

I absolutely would. Ive watched every draft for the last 8 years, at least the first round any ways. I always take off work and am fully prepared. got wings on the grill, beer in my fridge, and ready to go. Its my favorite off season day of the NHL year.

Alright guys, get your temper tantrums out of the way now if things don't shake out the way you are expecting.

If you only would've posted this last draft the McilRath talk totally could have been avoided

It's gotta be Biggs, gotta be.....

I tried my best to not fall in love with any players this year in order to prevent a repeat of last year. I was ready to lose it when Fowler dropped to us, and would have been ok with Tarasenko the way it shook out to that point. Despite warnings from a friend in the organization, my jaw was on the floor for the rest of the night when we took McIlrath instead.

I really like McNeill, but I think he'll be gone by the time he gets to us. This year, I'd really be ok with anyone except Boone Jenner. I'm going to throw a **** fit if we take him.

Any chance Zibanejad falls?

To 12 or 13 would not surprise me. All the way to 15 would.

If Minny goes Armia, which I think they might, then the chance increases exponentially.

Think Ottawa takes Zibanejad, no chance he gets past Calgary at 13 IMO

Interesting. Hopefully Saad and Armia go before 15, I don't want either of them with the #15.

late buzz on zbad has him as more of a 2 way physical guy and less of a scorer.

3rd line type isnt out of the question with zbad. hes got an edge to his game and plays it kinda chippy but may lack that high end scoring touch.

still think ryan strome has a very high ceiling and would be a great pick if looking for a homerun type centerman

this is one of my favorite nights of the entire year.

NHL Network has Jonas Brodin (sp?) ranked as the #10 player.

Could he possibly jump up into the lottery and push some people back?

Don't care really. I like Zibanejad a lot. If he falls, we have to take him. I'd love to see him on a line with Kreider

Someone else posted a tweet that had the Wild high on Brodin....works for us. I'm hoping for a run on D-men.

Last minute inteviews?

Also does the draft (actual selections) actually start at 7, or is it going to be more like 7:30?

Personally I think, just from viewing video, just like the rest of us, he doesn't have a high offensive upside. Decent skater, good checker, not too much scoring touch, hands are just OK. Possible 2nd more likely 3rd line potential.

Sounds similar to Tyler Biggs, but less physical and does not fight. Who would have thought that.?
