Rumor on twitter now that Muller is going to head coach the Wolves.

Didn't the habs refuse him going to an AHL team not very long ago? Odd, but better than him going to an NHL team, IMO. Maybe when Martin's time is done, he'll come back.

Good move imo.

Also called it.

Boucher has been a head coach before he was hired with the Lightening. He brought in his 2 assistants from Hamilton to support him but Boucher / Yzerman also brought in Wayne Flemming who has over 30 years of coaching experience including over 10 in the NHL as an assistant coach.

Muller really needs to go to a developing team like Ottawa or somewhere where he can be given some breathing room before results are expected. NJ isn't the right fit for him imo, down the stretch last year, they proved that they are a playoff contention team.

If true good luck to Kirk. We'll miss him behind the bench.

I wish we would have pulled Randy to the big league and put Kirk down in Hamilton. I hope he does make it to the NHL though.

#NHL news. Kirk Muller ends his run with #Canadiens. Word off draft floor is he'll sign with #Predators as new farm team coach in #Milwaukee

I'm happy for Muller, I hope he can have some success down there so he gets a shot in 2-3 years.

As for us, I hope we get someone young and on the uprise. Hopefully not an old croney like JM. I think Muller complimented him well. I hope we find somebody to compliment him equally well.

Any good AHL coaches that we could snipe for an assistant position?

Not a bad idea. As long as we fire him in 2 years when Nathan is ready to make the jump. Firing his dad from the organization seems to do good things for Nathan's game.

Because he wants to get out of the Habs organization and PG the micro manager. Great move for a guy who will be an NHL coach.

Marinaro hinted at exactly this ...

He said there were two reasons why Muller didn't want the Hamilton job

1) Because NHL teams tend to look first at their AHL farm clubs when hiring NHL head coaches

2) Figure it out ...

To me that was a hint that Muller wanted out from within the Habs organization

I'd be happy for him getting an AHL head coaching position but still a big fan of his and hope he remains in the organization as I would not be against him become the head coach for the Habs at some point.

I don't think he ever had a shot at Hamilton. Montreal isn't an organization that would fire Cunneyworth after his performance to replace him with Muller.

Unless they swapped positions. But I don't think it matters. I think its better that Muller cuts his teeth somewhere else. I think we are better off with Cunneyworth in Hamilton than Muller who has no head coaching experience. Let him learn on someone else's dime.

Expect NSH to announce tomorrow that Kirk Muller is the head coach of its AHL team in Milwaukee.

That makes no sense and it's just another small Marinaro rant against this organization.
I strongly doubt Muller had any issues with management and simply wanted out.
The job in Hamilton wasn't available, just like the one in Mtl wasn't last year when Boucher was being interviewed. He wants a coaching position, wherever he'll get one. It has nothing to do with not liking the micro management of PG.
That's complete BS.

He actually is the new Head Coach and GM for the Sarnia Sting.

Surprised they kept saying he was an Assistant in London, when he now has a bigger gig.

Randy Cunneyworth will probably be promoted.
